POSTAL 4 No Regerts Free Download Unfitgirl The Postal Dude and his dog Champ have relocated to Edensin, Arizona where he hopes to get a fresh start in life. Unfortunately for him, his car which is doubling as his home gets stolen. Broke and in an unfamiliar area, the Dude needs to take on odd jobs to earn some money and eventually get his car back. Fortunately for the player, the type of work he gets through the temp agency are more conducive to game mayhem than what most of us would get offered at a temp agency. Edensin might be a small town out in the desert, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t full of interesting characters. The Dude meets a wide assortment of people in which he engages in dealings. These include the usual suspects in games where the protagonist has criminal leanings such as corrupt law enforcement, politicians and the mafia. But since postal isn’t the typical games there’s also some other less predictable folk such as a local militia and doomsday cult. One has to admit that for such a small sparsely populated town like Edensin they certainly have a lot going on. The Postal Dude progresses through the story by starting each day and doing everything he is supposed to. His tasks vary from day to day, but we’ll do a rundown of a day in the life of the Dude, focusing on Monday’s events since it’s considered the least spoilery day to talk about. The Dude goes to the temp agency and is given three jobs he needs to complete before the day is over: prison guard, animal control specialist and sewer sanitation specialist. As weird as these job assignments are, it’s actually kind of nice since it gives the player a variety of situations to handle, each with different mechanics. The prison guard job goes horribly wrong and Dude has to manually find and input security codes to override the lockdown. In this process all the prisoners get out and the prisoners need to be dealt with. By shooting them. It’s a simple objective, but does showcase where the game AI could benefit from tweaking. Some inmates will attack you when shot if they survive, usually a couple shots is enough to take them down. Some will run away and others will just stand there in a catatonic state. Even though a few have got their hands on guns, they don’t pose much of a threat and the biggest challenge is navigating the prison to figure out where the computers are to enter the codes. The animal control assignment requires capturing cats and dogs for an unseen person who says things that suggest he eats the animals the Dude brings. Dogs are lured with treats and cats are just picked up for hand delivery. This mission is simple since the stray animals are friendly and easy to catch, but keeping a stash of dog treats on hand can have some other perks later on. The sewer mission involve fixing valves, replacing lightbulbs and shoveling massive piles of excrement. It’s about as fun as working in a real sewer.

MORE OBNOXIOUS THAN OBSCENE

There are threats down there in the form of rats, which oddly are more resilient to bullets than prison inmates. After these jobs are completed the Dude can find a place to crash to start the next day or take on some optional side missions. Each day brings a specific new set of tasks that can be addressed at the Dude’s leisure. Of course, these tasks can be ignored entirely if the player chooses to just go on a violent rampage instead. Postal 4 almost seems like an apology for Postal III. It returns to the first-person perspective of the cult classic Postal 2 and tries to propel itself to new levels of absurdity. The thing with the Postal series is that it has always been intentionally edgy and controversial, proudly flaunting itself as a monument to bad taste. Postal 4 doesn’t attempt to change the formula, but somehow plays it too safe in its edginess. It’s politically incorrect and doesn’t shy away from vulgar humor, but comes off more like a parody of what was edgy in 2003 and doesn’t have as much shock factor in modern times. Or maybe I’m just way too desensitized. Street names like Dutch Oven and Inyo Butte might elicit a chuckle, but sound like names Bart Simpson would come up for a prank call if he didn’t outgrow doing that after over thirty seasons. The absurd and ultra violent world of Postal 4 is a safe space to play out psychotic rampages and revenge fantasies as Cooking Simulator

Edensin feels very much like a fantastical counterpart to the real world.  But reality sinks in when half the residents of Edensin are walking around with facemasks and the arrow-guided aisles in convenience stores have conspicuously bare sections on their shelves. This would be a timely reference to the most surreal year in modern history had this game been released two years earlier. Postal 4 doesn’t truly excel in any particular area. The game mechanics are janky; combat controls are alright but platforming could have benefited from more quality control. Picking up and carrying boxes controls and looks like a throwback to when 3D games first started taking off. The absurdity of the situation the Dude finds himself in and the tasks he gets roped into doing help carry the story and offer humor, bad sadly even this falls short. Vulgarity and shock value do have their place in humor and can work well if there is either wit or some social commentary behind it. Wholesale murder, shoveling crap and finding collectible genital-themed plushies can be entertaining with proper context, but fall short when they’re attempting to convey humor simply by existing. The overall result is a game that’s mediocre when it comes gameplay mechanics, story and entertaining writing. The Postal series has always had a niche audience, and fans of the franchise can probably find a lot to enjoy in Postal 4

A CRISIS OF CREATIVITY

Since the first episode released in 1997 I have always appreciated the particular irreverence of the Postal series . The mixture of violence, lightness and pure metanarrative escapism offered the opportunity to find oneself in a parallel universe in which everything is allowed and nothing is treated with respect. When I was offered to get my hands on Postal 4: No Regerts , then, I admit I had mixed feelings. Since 1997 the general sensitivity of society to certain types of humor has certainly changed and, probably, mine has also changed. My doubts and fears were totally off target, because Postal 4 ‘s problems are quite different, and far more serious for a video game. Let’s start with the positive aspects, partly because I don’t want to be completely critical of a game that basically intrigued me, and partly because, I’m afraid, it won’t take long to list them. It is clear that in creating this No Regerts the developers have tried to accommodate the fans and introduce mechanics that they might like . All the Postal classics return, from scrotum-shaped mascots, to sexism, to humor based on showing excrement. It’s also possible to drop your pants and urinate on people or on their corpses, and of course, there’s still the option of sticking the barrel of an AK47 into a cat’s anus and using it as a silencer. I imagine that for some, these characteristics are positive. Coromon Switch NSP

A detail, the only one, I’m afraid, that I really appreciated was being able to choose at the beginning of a new game some customizations related to the Dude, the protagonist, especially the choice of the voice actor was at the same time a bizarre but very welcome option. . Postal 4 allows, in fact, to choose which voice to give to the protagonist by choosing between three different actors including Jon St. John, the man who gave the voice to that timeless icon that is Duke Nukem . The other two choices are Rick Hunter (the voice actor of the first two games) and Corey Cruise ( Postal III ). Unfortunately once you are in the actual game the problems begin. A short animation depicts the Dude’s misadventures that lead him to a remote town after his RV is stolen. The main objective of the game is therefore, in theory, to regain possession of the camper and return on the journey in the company of Champ, a trusted four-legged friend since the times of the first chapter of the saga. The missions and tasks to be completed every day are many and quite varied, the particularity of the series also remains of being able, in theory, to complete most of the missions peacefully and without harming anyone. The feeling I had while facing the various “jobs” was that of finding myself in front of a playground, with very different activities and quotes designed to snatch a smile from the player.

DECENT ARTISTS BUT BAD DIRECTION

Making fines for no-parking cars, dedicating yourself to a short career as dog (and cat) catcher, trying to get as many citizens to sign a petition to install a bidet in every home are just some of the bizarre situations that the player may find himself in. face and try to complete. I say “try” to complete because in some cases I have come across bugs or simple naiveté that blocked me completely. While trying to get the petition for bidets signed, for example, a tutorial window appears explaining that to get a citizen to sign the petition one must open the weapon wheel and hold a one-handed weapon, but if you follow the instructions as they are presented do not get the desired result (the weapon is extracted and the citizen rightly runs away), what actually needs to be done is to select the weapon in question as if it were an ammunition of the petition, action which, of course, had never been in the game until then and is not exactly intuitive. In another case during the exploration of a map area I entered a lake, but as soon as I tried to emerge above the surface I found myself falling down to the bottom and dying from the impact. I could stop, but there is actually a lot more to say. Subtitles do not work at the moment, some of the expected features (like changing the costume) are not implemented . The promise of the developers was that everything would be implemented at launch, but I can’t judge a promise Corrupted Love

I can only judge the state of the game at the moment I have it on hand. I was also excited by the idea of having a more or less free world to explore again, but Edensin, the city where Postal 4 is set , is a fake Seattle inhabited by characters who walk aimlessly . There is no real artificial intelligence, no routine: you wander the traffic-free city streets watching people walk up and down the asphalt aimlessly and without intelligence. The opportunities to play creatively or create chaotic situations like in a GTA are completely absent. I have rarely seen such a wasted “open world” concept. On the technical side, I can’t say anything positive. The game is graphically old, with patterns, textures and effects that are simply unpresentable in 2022 . If it were a retro shooter I might as well appreciate it, but in this case the graphics are not inspired by a specific style and are simply cheesy and approximate. To add a further problem there is the fact that despite the spartanity of the technical sector, the graphics engine is still heavy and puts a strain on an RTX 2080 at 1440p resolution, causing temperatures to reach worrying levels and with frequent blocks in the framerate that make the experience not very fluid and not at all pleasant. The audio itself is at the very least questionable. The selection of volumes is totally random, with characters who at times seem to speak whispering and at other times are at normal volume

The weapons also suffer from the same problem with sound effects most of the time regular but which in some cases are extremely noisy and overwhelm every other dialogue or sound. All this translates into a great general difficulty in following the story and events (the non-working subtitles certainly do not help). The songs featured on the game’s internal radio are if nothing else good examples of Trash Metal and other genres worthy of respect , but that’s not a credit to the game, it’s a credit to the artists represented. I wish I could find a side to save in Postal 4 , but to be completely honest I wonder how a product under these conditions can get out of Early Access. I can only advise against the purchase even to those who are a fan of the series, at least until the problems I have described are actually solved. I would like to make a last parenthesis on the humor present in Postal 4 : to give an idea of my tastes I can say that I love black humor and irreverence, I appreciate Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervais (even if my comedian favorite remains the late George Carlin). I am, therefore, by no means a person who has a tendency to be scandalized or who might negatively judge a joke just for its theme, instead of how funny it actually is. That said, the humor of Postal 4it seemed flat to me, scandalous for the sake of scandalizing and not as a means of criticizing society.
