Voidigo Free Download Unfitgirl February was a wonderfully perfect month with it starting on a Monday and ending on a Friday. It makes perfect sense then, that this would also be a month filled to the brim with excellent indie games to play. Frankly, you could argue that there were too many games to play, but the site tried to manage it anyway. As ever, this is our monthly round-up of games we didn’t manage to fit into our normal reviews schedule. That’s not a note on their quality though, and this might actually be the highest-scoring one yet. Bravery Network Online is the only non-roguelike on this list. That’s a lot of pressure for any game I’m writing about, but I’m always happy to talk about games that are good, and Bravery Network Online is absolutely great. It’s full of larger-than-life characters, stunning artwork, and a very satisfying turn-based combat system. If you’re even slightly interested in this game then implore you to check it out, you won’t regret it. It’s so damn punishing, but it’s also a wonderfully inventive roguelike that takes everything that makes Mega Man great and goes “what if you died more and the progression was different?” It’s an important question, and the answer to that used to be 20XX, but 30XX is better in every single way. Please play this game if you want a cool co-op platformer that will also crush you and your dreams. You’ll enjoy it, I promise. Unfitgirl.COM SEXY GAMES

We been looking forwards to this game for a while now, and I’m incredibly happy about the fact that Fights in Tight Spaces does not disappoint. Even though it’s only in Early Access, it’s already a truly exceptional example of what can be done in the deckbuilding roguelike space. There are enough familiar features here for pros of the genre, like enemy intents and the map system, but the way it handles combat is inspired. The only reason this isn’t a 10/10 score is that it’s going to get even better as they add new stuff, and we can’t go higher than a 10. It’s a strong roguelike month, it would seem, but while I knew about all of the other games coming into February, Voidigo has come out of nowhere. Voidigo is a wonderfully colourful roguelike that has you wielding absurd weapons, swinging massive swords, and occasionally jumping on enemies to survive. It’s an intensely hectic game, but it’s one that I can see myself really falling into in the coming weeks. This is one for those who prefer chaos in their roguelikes.I like Cardaclysm, but I don’t love it. It has you roaming around a world and fighting what are effectively turn-based Pokemon battles. You get new cards as you win these battles, and you can make cards stronger by combining any duplicates you get. It’s a cool system, and having a very hard limit on what you can use in any given battle keeps things fun as you pick up more options.

Rush of Blood

However, combat just feels a bit dull sometimes. There’s definitely an element of misfortune here in that it’s in one of the strongest Review Round-Ups I’ve done too. It’s fun, but it’s not fantastic. Video games are full of really good noises and audio cues. The distorted explosion of rockets in Quake, the awful crack of a headshot in Gears of War, Mario’s iconic whoops and hollers. They serve as hooks that bring us into the worlds of our favorite games. There are plenty of subtle animations that do this, too: the screen shakes that crop up in Vlambeer’s pixel-art arcade games, the pause-on-hit and stark audio cues of Hades’ combat. They enhance every action and delight the player with the way they infuse each experience with a sense of kinetic energy and reward. Voidigo leans into of all that so hard that it falls over, sending everything in the room clattering and bouncing away, with a cacophony of honks, squeaks and trills before getting up, dusting itself off, and doing it all over again. Every frame of Semiwork Studio’s roguelike is full of movement and activity. It brings to mind the jittery, wiggly animation of Klasky Csupo, as objects and characters bop and wobble around before you send them flying with a shot to face. At its core, Voidigio is a Roguelike similar to other screen-shaking top-down shooters Nuclear Throne and Enter the Gungeon. FINAL FANTASY IX

You are Drash, a small pink bird lady who has no memories of her past but has been picked by the Antivoid to help battle the Void, an all-consuming evil that has messed up reality. You do so by entering levels shaped like wheels, each with a hub in the middle reaching out to six spokes that are all connected in a ring. Every level has a boss, a big beast corrupted by the warp and turned into an aggressive hunter. When you encounter the boss, which can be from a set roster including everything from a giant queen ant to a carnivorous plant with an angler fish style lure, you are able to begin chipping away at it. Bosses have fairly large health pools and a wide range of telegraphed but still hard-to-avoid attacks. You’ll notice fairly quickly that they have a big health bar covered in padlocks; this is because each map has a set of void-corrupted monoliths that protect the boss. Of course, you’ll need to smash those before you can fully defeat the level’s ultimate enemy. But wait! The monoliths are often locked by a key held by one of an assortment of minions that can be found in the area surrounding the main hub. So the aim of the game is to find the monoliths, get the key, zap it, and hunt the boss. It’s not so simple, though, because bosses aren’t static. Instead, they roam around the map, haranguing you when they feel brave or scarpering to heal from a hiding place.

Scrap Mechanics

In practice, the loop works like a mix of Monster Hunter and Nuclear Throne, a set of micro objectives forcing you to engage in bullet-hell battles with a menagerie of aggressive tree people, shell wearing goons, and boisterous pigs — all while looking for new loot vortexes to grab weapons from, or shops to spend currency in to top up your ammo count (or durability for melee weapons). Like most roguelikes, you can also get a whole host of passive upgrades: gems that shoot lasers when you dodge with your jump, buttons that trigger random environmental effects, familiars that make you shoot faster, a long arm that, unsurprisingly, makes your arms longer. Combat is hectic and kinetic with projectiles and enemies pinballing off each other, but you’re equipped with a good few movement options, including a sprint, a jump that does double duty as a dodge, and a Mario-style stomp that stuns enemies for a few precious moments. Weapons range the gamut from banal — a revolver, a shotgun, various swords and clubs — to the brilliant — the shotgum, which is a shotgun with bouncing gumballs, the basshunter, a gun that fires small watery fish, and, well, there are lots of unique and memorable weapons best not spoiled. As with all the great roguelikes, synergies between weapons and effects allow for fun combos to play out. FINAL FANTASY VIII – REMASTERED

I found a tasty one where my sprint left little electric clouds behind me if I was in combat, which coupled with a gun that shot water projectiles had the added effect of spreading the electricity to even wider areas, stunning bosses and foes alike. Load up on peppers, which modify melee with effects like fire and poison, and soles, which affect stomps in a similar way, and you might end up going with a full melee build for a run. After the first and second stages, there are shops where you can trade items for health and vice versa, giving you a variety of things to consider as you progress. More health is always good, but sometimes an extra item is better. Currently, there is a third stage that gives you a wealth of guns and other weapons to choose from as you attempt to battle three bosses at once in a madcap dash around the world. The game currently ends after this, as it is only at version 0.0.2 right now — but it’s quite a finale as it stands. There are already options to try harder runs, change your starting loadout, and a hint that more characters will be coming over time. It’s a really promising start for a roguelike that’s already bursting at the seams with creativity. It’s also nice to see such an aesthetic switch-up for a genre that often favors sci-fi and fantasy of the more conservative approaches. Voidigo is a day-glo nightmare world, more ‘zine than comic book in its presentation.

Arsenal of Weapons

Out of the gate, I was pretty amazed by the general gameplay of Voidigo. Controls were almost exactly what they were for Outpost Delta. Even after learning the controls, I wasn’t sure how long I’d last. This is one thing I can appreciate about the tutorial. Before ever going out into ‘the universe’ players have to defeat a ‘tutorial boss.’ Most games give a brief tutorial right before throwing someone into the game. With the intro level to Voidigo, I felt like I had a real chance against enemies in other locations. And it helped a great deal. When I encountered my first few enemies, I remembered what I had learned. Some enemies in this roguelite could block my bullets. The only solution to this enemy was to bounce off their head. After knocking them unconscious, it is the one opportunity to ensure they stay down. The bosses in Voidigo were comparatively difficult. While the minions were easy to handle, each boss battle was unique. My first ‘boss’ opponent, The Matriarch, possessed the ability to burrow. Like the other bosses, when The Matriarch attacked, a line in a specific shape would flash between white, yellow, and red just beforehand. I began to hate the burrowing ability of the enemy. Yeah, it’s cool, but it sucks the fun out when you readying up for an attack. Boss battles were made much easier after acquiring power-ups. Fireworks Mania

Arachnid’s Haste, as one was called, increased the main protagonist’s speed. It also gave the character two gnarly spider legs. There was also a Coffee power-up, which laid hot puddles of coffee for enemies to step on. And, if you’re lucky, you can get an upgrade for ‘fire buttons.’ This summoned rings of fire that would burn any enemies within. There are enough weapons in Voidigo to keep players entertained. From different iterations of a revolver to laser beams, there’s a weapon for everyone. Some projectile weapons include the Pork Machinegun, the Cremator, and the Maelstrom. The machinegun, with a muzzle shaped like a pig’s nose, had an amazing fire rate. The Cremator was a rifle that repeatedly shot fireballs. In addition, it would also affect enemies with the ‘burn’ status effect. I’m more glad the burn didn’t also affect me when I made physical contact. But out of the three, I’d prefer the Maelstrom. After the bubbles shoot out, they will then pop when they hit the enemy. In this state, water drips down and damages the enemies sitting under it. Melee is also thrown into the mix to give players an extra challenge. Depending on the weapon, one might just be able to hit an enemy’s projectile with a swing. Better melee sets have a shield and melee weapon. While they were strong, I didn’t feel comfortable having to get close to enemies to hit them.

The problem with melee weapons is they will deteriorate. Repair them to keep them from disintegrating. What refills ammo for ranged weapons will ‘repair’ whatever close combat item you choose. I just couldn’t seem to do well with the weapons. I honestly think it would do better without such sluggish physical weapons. Who wants to be hit twice before making a single sword swing? Along with all of this, Voidigo gives you the option to recycle their weapons. In this roguelite, that could go one of two ways. One of the times I recycled, I successfully replaced a starter weapon with a laser beam. Further on, during the second playthrough, I was lucky if the recycler ever spat out a weapon. The machine will recycle whichever weapon you currently have equipped. So take care not to have your favorite gun out when you press x. I’ve played other roguelites before. And while they were fun, they lost my interest after about an hour. Whenever you complete a round in this roguelite, you go to ‘the Camp’, an interdimensional pit stop. You can then choose a difficulty before jumping into the wormhole. Before deciding, you can even see how many times you’ve completed certain modes which was a nice touch. These are indicated as ‘wins.’ You can also see your deaths and number of runs when loading the game.
