Asdivine Dios Switch NSP Free Download Unfitgirl I find that I have, more or less, become the unofficial KEMCO RPG reviewer for JP’s SWITCHMANIA, and the more titles I play, the more okay with this I am. The title I am reviewing today is part of the Asdivine universe, though it does not directly pertain to either of the other two titles I have played for the Switch, Asdivine Hearts and Asdivine Hearts II, as far as story is concerned. There are some repeat characters, however, and many of the battle mechanics are similar, but this game feels like its own thing, and is, by far, my favorite in the Asdivine series. Let’s talk some more about this awesome and addicting RPG: Asdivine Dios. Asdivine Dios is set in the world of Asdivine, where you play as Izayoi, the deity of Asdivine. You’ve never particularly liked humans, but you have always had a live-and-let-live kind of philosophy as a deity. A dark force known as “Murk” has grown so strong that you have lost most of your magic, including your ability to leave your mortal form. The Murk has turned the animals into monsters, and the world is quickly becoming overrun. Together with your companions, the spirits of the three pillars, you set out on a journey across Asdivine to track down the source of the Murk and save the world from destruction. You will first be joined by Iris, The Spirit of Light; a bubbly and optimistic spirit with an affinity for humans. You will soon be joined by Minerva, The Spirit of Shadow; a shy, reserved spirit. She is the youngest of the three spirits, and has a strong aversion to humans, but an even stronger aversion to Iris. Finally, you will be joined by Freya, The Spirit of Harmony, the eldest of the three, with a personality that is cheerful and bubbly, yet at the same time sadistic. Each of the three spirits specialize in their own respective types of magic: light, shadow, and void. While they do level up their specialized magic type faster than other magic types, all three can be learned—with the help of some accessory rings—by all characters, which creates a rather large variety of combinations for the unison attacks, which I will discuss in a little more detail shortly. One of the rules that comes along with writing a review for KEMCO is that I can’t give away any spoilers—which is a great rule, because spoilers suck—but I will say that the story kept me engaged the entire way through, and there are multiple endings, one of which adds an entire extra chapter to the game, which I appreciated quite a bit. I put about 30 hours into the game before I got to the first ending, but I spent a good 6 or so of those hours grinding EXP to level up my characters to level 999—I also bought the extra EXP DLC for the game, so expect that to take about 15 hours or so without it.

Back to the Grind

Speaking of grinding for EXP, I have to say, with the combination of the extra EXP DLC and a setting that allows you to auto-win any battles with enemies you’ve out-leveled, it was a very painless—and frankly, enjoyable—experience for me. I always try to max out my characters in RPGs—I still have a 20-year-old save on my childhood copy of Chrono Trigger that I fear will someday soon leave this mortal coil in unison with its companion battery of roughly the same age—but that doesn’t mean I have to enjoy the process, so I am happy to say that Asdivine Dios is the most enjoyable grind experience in a video game that I have had. It’s almost like just opening dozens upon dozens of treasure chests once you get leveled up enough to auto-complete the big kahunas. As far as the battle system goes when you do have to actually fight the enemies, I found it to be a very well-rounded system, with maybe a few too many abilities to choose from, but almost every single ability is useful and unique. I found myself finding extra fights to pick than necessary in dungeons, just so I could try out all of the different moves I was unlocking. On top of all of the different abilities that each character can learn, they can also perform what are called “Unison” attacks, which combine two different characters’ individual abilities with one another to make an entirely new attack. This gave me some serious Chrono Trigger vibes, but since you also get to pick different abilities from each character to form multiple combinations for each pair of characters, it also kind of gave me a bit of a Skyrim alchemy table vibe. You have the ability, like in the other entries in the Asdivine universe, to upgrade and modify your weapons, armor, and accessories. Unlike in Asdivine Hearts II, where your starter weapon can get so jacked up early on in the game that you basically have to downgrade and re-level any new weapons you find as you progress, in Asdivine Dios, the new weapons that appear as you progress remain relevant with their stats, allowing you to upgrade to a new, unmodified weapon you found in a treasure chest or a merchant’s table without dropping 60 ATK points and waiting around until you can upgrade it back to something close to what you once had. This feels much more balanced, and it really encourages you to play around with the different weapons you obtain, in order to combine status effects and buffs to see what works best for you. Visually, this is another “Modern Retro” throwback-looking game, but it is done quite well. It has a very GBA feel to it, but with the usual beautifully-illustrated anime-style foreground dialogue illustrations of the characters that I have come to love with my KEMCO RPGs.

The Spirits That Guide You

The music is better than mediocre, but nothing too incredibly special either. It gets the job done, has its moments in key parts of the game, and it doesn’t annoy me in the process, so I won’t complain. Asdivine Dios is a) from KEMCO, and b) the third game in the Asdivine series. Consequently, it probably won’t shock you too much to learn that it’s pretty much exactly what you’d expect from it. It’s a kinda-retro JRPG that doesn’t do anything well, but doesn’t do anything badly either. To be fair, some of those are marginally better than others. Revenant Saga, for example, was (probably inadvertently) hilarious on account of how terrible all the characters were to each other, and I think I kind of liked Dragon Sinker (though I really don’t remember why). Further, even the worst ones still coast along being forgettably inoffensive. In Asdivine Dios’ case, the worst thing to say about it is that it errs far too much on the wordy side, and doesn’t have any option for fast-forwarding through text. While I’m sure that will be a relief for anyone who loves this series and doesn’t want to miss a single word of it, it really just felt like padding for padding’s sake. Plus, while there are certainly worse offenders out there, the Asdivine series has always been kind of weird about surrounding their male main characters with women who worship the ground they walk on and this game is no exception. In fact, Asdivine Dios takes the “worship the ground they walk on” thing literally, since the main character also happens to be the creator of the universe (which also adds all kinds of squickiness to the way main character Izayoi interacts with his creations//wannabe love interests). Not having a fast-forward option means you have to scroll through the seemingly endlessly cringeworthy dialogue, which doesn’t do the game any favours. Still, as I said before, we’re talking about a KEMCO game, so you more or less getting exactly what you’d expect when it comes to Asdivine Dios. There are far worse JRPGs out there, but there are also far better ones, and this one comes in right where you’d expect, in the exact midpoint between those two extremes. The story revolves around a man called Izayoi, the Deity of Asdivine; as in the creator, the omnipotent god of this entire world. He has the ability to cleanse the Murk, sending it to his spirit tree Yggdrasil, and has maintained peace in the world for millennia. The Murk is an important component of the story, and is generated by the humans that inhabit the world that Izayoi created. As these humans not only create Murk, but also despoil the natural order of things, Izayoi at the start of the story is very dismissive of them, feeling aloof and above them. Sadly, as our story begins, Izayoi has lost a lot of his magic, and must set out on foot to try and recover it, and his journey will force him to rub shoulders with the humans.

In other words, it’s a KEMCO release

Will familiarity breed contempt, or will he come face to face with humanity at its own level, and possibly learn to appreciate them a bit more? As Izayoi adventures across the world, he encounters spirits that have been created throughout his long history. Iris, the first we come across, is the second oldest of these spirits, and has cultivated strong relationships with the humans in the village nearest to her Spirit Tree. As a consequence, she quite often has to help Izayoi understand what he is seeing, and with her knowledge of human food can name the best dish in each region we visit. Minerva, the second spirit, is the youngest, but is much more studious and scholarly than Iris, even to the point of using a book as a weapon in her fights, battering monsters with the corner of it. She appears to dislike Iris, and is constantly making snide remarks, which to be honest, Iris is too much of an airhead to notice. The last spirit is Freya, and she is the oldest by a long way, but still only looks about 20 despite having been around for over a thousand years. She is the motherly figure to the other two, but has a hidden depth of cruelty that only shows itself if her age is mentioned .So, Izayoi has three female companions to assist him in his mission, and sadly it’s here that the game takes a bit of a detour into ‘Carry On’ territory. Despite Izayoi being the creator, and therefore almost a father to these three characters, they all fall madly in love with him and compete to try to win his affections. Escape from Tarkov

With “hilarious” misunderstandings occurring when a man turns up in a village with three women in tow, and all the secret whisperings that go on about him being some form of gigolo and so on, the story is pretty infantile in this regard. And that’s a shame, as the overarching story about the Murk overpowering the world, and the mission to stop it, is actually very interesting.  With the addition of Keith Glory, a mercenary with the best name ever in an RPG, and the baddies who may not be as bad as they first seem, the story of Asdivine Dios works well, but the whole subplot of romance could be left out and things would be better for it. However, there are multiple endings to be unlocked depending on which lady has the best relationship with Izayoi, so you do have to play the romance/gift giving game if you want to completely finish things. Graphically and Asdivine Dios on Xbox One is pretty much a standard KEMCO game, with a nice retro style to the graphics, and the usual presentation of static cutscenes with the story portrayed in text boxes. The sound is pretty standard fare as well; stirring battle music, swishing swords and swooshing spells. The battle screen runs with the more familiar side on view, where the characters can use magic, skills, attack, or use an item. A new feature this time around is the addition of Unisons, which are attack chains involving two characters.

These have to be set up beforehand, and each character can have a number of Unisons with different partners in their inventory, which when activated in battle they can have a devastating effect on the enemies. Getting the right combinations for the fight you’re in adds a layer of complexity that is welcome in a fairly simple battle mechanic. Barrel Busters also makes a comeback, allowing you to play for either tickets, which only give low level gear, or for ADP, which are earned after battles and found in chests. Finding these ADP allows you to play higher levels of the game, giving better loot which can then be infused into the equipment your characters are using. As an example, my Minerva is running around with a Shaggy Almanac + 257, which pretty much destroys anything that she hits with a regular attack. This mechanic can make you very overpowered, so use with caution, as so far I’ve not lost a single boss fight, and I can pretty much leave the AI to fight automatically in most cases. There aren’t many things to complain about from a gameplay point of view. The enemies are simply coloured differently, but still the same character model, but this is usual in these type of games. Izayoi does however have a weird way of moving in the game screen, seeming almost to slide about the place without moving his legs, and he still manages to get hung up on corners.
