Wreckfest Free Download Unfitgirl After a generation jam-packed with realistic racers that have made it their mission to teach us to drive clean and race fair, Wreckfest arrives like a sharp but needed kick in the shins. Forget driving etiquette; this is the automotive equivalent of a bar brawl, and it’s absolutely outstanding. Assembled by Finnish destruction racing specialists Bugbear, Wreckfest rekindles the door-slamming spirit of their original FlatOut games and brings it back to life inside the best demolition derby game in over a decade. Don’t be deceived by Wreckfest’s overt focus on wildly exaggerated, metal-rending mayhem. This isn’t a strictly arcade smash-’em-up carved from the Burnout block; it’s a true successor to the likes of Destruction Derby, the original FlatOut, and the criminally underrated Test Drive: Eve of Destruction (known as Driven to Destruction to those of us outside North America). There’s actually a serious driving model beneath all of this over-the-top, elbows-out competition and conquering the cars here requires more than hope and a heavy right foot – you need some genuine skill. A fairly typical array of driving aids is on hand to tone it down a little, but I reckon Wreckfest is at its best when most of them are stripped away and we have to work harder behind the wheel. Hulking American muscle cars and land yachts squat back on their worn springs and need to be wrestled into heroic Hollywood powerslides and steered on the throttle. Unfitgirl.COM SEXY GAMES

Smaller European and Japanese models are nimbler but they’re also lighter, and some are prone to pitching themselves into lethal tanks lappers. Some of the cars feel quite similar to each other but overall there are notable differences between the range of body types, from muscle to family wagons, and from sports coupes to front-wheel drive hatchbacks. The special vehicles are another story altogether, from the top-heavy double-decker cars and rollover-prone school buses to the huge harvester with its distinctive rear-wheel steering. The RV is probably my favourite as, despite its heft and relatively low power, it just loves being whipped sideways into ludicrous drifts. There’s also a motorised couch, which handles a lot better than I’d expected it would (but probably could’ve done with some wheelie bars). There are significant differences in grip from mud or gravel to tarmac but, with Wreckfest’s well-tuned sense of weight and friction, the handling overall is smashing. It seems just about every panel and part can be punished, pulverised, or just prised off completely Equally smashing, of course, is the actual smashing, whether you’re careening through trackside objects or mercilessly poleaxing your opposition. Wreckfest’s wonderful soft-body dynamics mean the cars can be bruised, battered, and bent beyond recognition.

That’s not gone well, then

The level of damage goes well clear of most other driving games; certainly most everything this side of the realistic car-crashing sim Beam.NG Drive, which uses similar soft-body tech. It seems just about every panel and part can be punished, pulverised, or simply prised off completely. Wreckfest actually has two damage levels you can pick from: normal and realistic. Normal, which makes cars tough but not invincible, is more fun because you can take a few hits and keep going – but I do enjoy the challenge of playing with realistic damage, where just one mistake can see you limping to the finish line missing a wheel. It’s compulsively addictive. Debris from collisions is persistent, too, and every new lap lays down more evidence of the high-speed war playing out on track. By the end of a race it’s likely you’ll be wading through a carpet of metal shards, splintered wood, scattered tyres, and shattered concrete. The sheer amount of mess left in the aftermath of races is wild, and yet almost never affects frame rate. I’ve had some bad slowdown on Xbox fighting through a full field of tightly-packed RVs tearing each other to bits but, other than that, it’s been extremely stable. The AI deserves a special mention as well for giving as good as it takes, and they’re tough but fallible foes. They ruined my races occasionally – but remember, that’s the point. Getting dive-bombed, T-boned, and unloaded in the middle of a drift is all part of the experience and forces us to race defensively and take different lines through corners. Just remember: there’s no penalty for doing the same thing back to them, so have at it. There’s a level of authenticity to the ovals, dirt tracks, and rallycross circuits here that really suits Wreckfest’s tone as a serious destruction derby game at heart. Despite my love for the cult favourite FlatOut Ultimate Carnage, I’m happy Bugbear has opted for a more sanctioned, grassroots motorsport feel here in Wreckfest. There’s a level of authenticity to the ovals, dirt tracks, and rallycross circuits here that really suits Wreckfest’s tone as a serious destruction derby game at heart. There’s still plenty of wild stuff, though – like an insanely dangerous loop-the-loop track, deadly figure-8s, courses that double back on themselves, and derby bowls that are basically skate parks for cars. That credibility extends to the cars, too, which are some of the coolest vehicles I’ve seen in a racing game. Each has been meticulously detailed to look like a hand-painted, hastily-welded rust bucket and – while they’re not licensed – gearheads are sure to recognise a classic Volvo 240 Estate, a Honda CR-X, or a MkI Escort when they see them. They all sound as cool as they look, too, from the grumble of a 50-year-old V8 to the buzz of an angry inline-four.

Live to race, race what you live in

There are a ton of great visual customisation options and liveries available, though Wreckfest is definitely screaming for some kind of rudimentary paint editor where we can spray on our own numbers and messages. Performance tuning is included, too, but it’s a bit disappointing Bugbear opted to ape the Forza and Need for Speed approach with clean and sterile upgrade menus that are in conflict with the grungy junkyard spirit we’re bathed in everywhere else. It’s also a bit annoying that you can’t save and quickly apply different set-ups for cars – like an armoured-up battle-ready beast for derby events and a stripped-down speedster for race events. There’s no cost to reapply owned upgrades but it’s a bit of unnecessary dicking about. There are plenty of premade events in Wreckfest but, while Bugbear has been patient in rationing out its tracks throughout the five tiers of career races, the event types do get a little repetitive. Online multiplayer is on hand to stretch out that lifespan, but I expect I’ll get more value out of the event editor. See if you can last 20 laps against two dozen buses on a lawnmower! For a start not only do you get a razor sharp 4K presentation which underscores the visuals with an eye-pleasing level of sharpness and fidelity, but you also get a doubling of the framerate to 60 frames per second as well, making Wreckfest appear liquid smooth in motion and deliciously responsive to control as a result. In addition to such a brazen visual facelift, Wreckfest on PS5 also boasts a veritable smorgasbord of other visual improvements that all combine to elevate the visceral nature of Wreckfest’s vehicle on vehicle violence. A notable uptick in shadow and lighting quality ensures that the tracks and the ambient environments of Wreckfest’s races have never looked better, as shadows stretch across the track and volumetric lighting adds a sheen to the game that just wasn’t there previously. Furthermore, Wreckfest on PS5 also brings higher resolution textures to the fore as well, making the logos and design work on each car really pop in a way that they just didn’t before, while incidental trackside detail also resolves to a much higher standard. Beyond the obvious resolution and framerate improvements, perhaps where Wreckfest on PS5 does some of its best work is in the more nuanced detail which helps to frame the mud-splattered, twisted metal showcase of Wreckfest’s numerous races and vehicular clashes. In its leap to Sony’s shiny new gaming box, Wreckfest now boasts much improved particle effect work and dynamic dirt on each vehicle, serving to further cement the believability of Wreckfest’s delectably dirty and ramshackle races. Now when you drift deeply around corners, ample quantities of mud spray up alongside the car in exaggerated fashion that neatly cements the believability of Wreckfest’s scenario

Spit polished Destruction

While the tracks themselves now much more indelibly bear the scars of the motor-powered tonnage that criss-cross around and over the surfaces of each. The culmination of Wreckfest’s impressive PS5 visual performance profile is that a game which already obsessed over the minute physicality of vehicular violence, succeeds in greatly enhancing that spectacle as a result. From piles of tires being swept across the track, to bumpers hanging off cars, smashed windscreens, twisted chassis and scratched paintwork, this is the absolute best that Wreckfest has ever looked and, thanks to the new 60 frames per second uplift, played too. One of the biggest bugbears (if you’ll excuse the lazy pun) that plagued the PS4 version of Wreckfest are the torturous loading times. Indeed, when you’re racing (again with the crappy puns) from one race to the next, the last thing that you need is to wait for a good 30 to 45 seconds for the thing to load. On PS5 however, loading times have been brutally cut all the way down to between 5 and 10 seconds; a massive improvement over the last gen version of the game that allows players to hop right back in with little delay. Thank Crom for the PS5’s SSD eh? Better still, the PS5’s Activities system also really comes into its own here, allowing you to dip into a quick race for five or ten minutes with just a 8-12 second loading time from a cold boot. Again it’s super impressive stuff that underscores just how important the screamingly fast access speeds of the PS5’s SSD is to respecting the time of gamers. Elsewhere, Wreckfest on PS5 also provides an expected level of Dual Sense support with the controller tailoring its rumble sensation depending on the ferocity of the on-screen action. It was expected certainly, but still enjoyable to experience all the same. Unfortunately, those folks looking for their hit of adaptive trigger goodness will be a little let down because though the feature is palpable in Wreckfest, the sensation isn’t quite so keenly felt as it is in other games. A shame certainly, but definitely something that could be resolved by a future update. More than anything, nearly two years later Wreckfest is still just pure, unadulterated fun. Quite simply, if you’ve been hankering after the glory days of Destruction Derby from the 1990s, or if you just want a proper, hell to leather, smashmouth racer with depth for days and style to spare, then you really cannot go wrong with Wreckfest on PlayStation 5.Previously, I’ve only dabbled with Wreckfest and that’s because it was on the Xbox Game pass program. I did a few races and nothing more. But now that we have the remastered version for PS5, I’ve given it another look and I’m hooked on its crazy fun gameplay. Wreckfest is this generation’s Destruction Derby and it wears its influences all over its battered and broken vehicles.

That’s fine by me because as a kid, Destruction Derby was one of a handful of games that would be in rotation during weekend sleepovers. Sleeping bags would be thrown out of the window due to battles spilling over from the screen to the bedroom floor. It was good fun and Wreckfest feels like a natural evolution, though it is missing local split-screen multiplayer. However, given that I’m 30 and I don’t have sleepovers anymore, online multiplayer is good enough, providing I can get The Lads together. So far, I haven’t been able to, because we’re all old and have proper lives now, but that’s a me problem and it’s not the game’s fault. Wreckfest is best played alone, anyway, or so I’ve found during my first few hours with the game. I’ve tried the online offerings but I didn’t really enjoy it. The time it takes to get into a game can be upwards of a few minutes. In my tests, the quickest I was able to get into a game was in just over two and a half minutes, with the longest wait being well over five, at which point I stopped counting, backed out, and tried again. Single-player is the place to be then. You get a robust campaign mode with dozens of different events to play through. You’ve got standard races, except you’re allowed to smash opponents off the track. You’ve got Destruction Derby, which puts all 24 racers in one arena and lets you duke it out until the last car remains. I really enjoyed this and I had a great time smashing my car up.
