I have spent 71 minutes trying to load into the game. It takes an EXTREME amount of time to load and it then gets stuck on 98%. All I then have to do is wait for my game to crash. I can’t recommend this game, but not because of the bugs. Bugs can be fixed, but core gameplay can’t, and that’s the problem with this title. Firefighting & rescue is highly dynamic, and that is not represented in the game at all. All of the incidents are pre-scripted, including the location, steps to resolve, even where to park the vehicles! An example of this is at a road traffic collision, the game got stuck because I put absorbent powder on a different spillage than it was expecting.. the incidents are scripted even down to that level! On the one hand, a game made for the masses, most of whom will not have any knowledge of firefighting, this level of assistance is helpful, but there are plenty of games that do that already. We need a firefighting game that is dynamic and lets players resolve incidents in any way they see fit. The map is quite large and has a variety of different areas ranging from suburban, motorway, and commercial which is nice. It would be very very easy to set say, 100-200 locations on the map where an incident *could* spawn, and have them spawn at random instead of all being pre-scripted. Since they clearly have the ability to find a location on a road (for the gps pathfinding) they could spawn RTCs anywhere on the map by just picking a random location on the map and finding the nearest section of road to that point.

If done incorrectly, this could lead to parts of an incident spawning inside a building and such, so it would have to be done carefully, maybe setting it so only certain types of incidents can spawn at each marker. The fire – It doesn’t spread, so there’s no risk, no danger at all. I can turn up to an incident, spend 15 minutes messing around and the fire wont have changed at all. A fire getting horrifically out of control to the point where you need to call in more vehicles, or potentially even friends to help in multiplayer would be an amazing experience. The pump – From what I understand it’s better than the first game (I haven’t played Notruf 1), however it’s not a simulation, not even close. This is likely due to the same problem as above, most people playing this game aren’t trained machinists, but I was hoping for a little more. The Tank Füllen and Schnellängriff levers are there, why can’t I use them! Why do I have to connect a splitter onto the central inlet when there are 2 perfectly good, correctly sized intakes to the left? All of the firefighting games on Steam are such a let down when it comes to pump operation. They could have an advanced mode, and a basic mode – The AI could always use the basic mode; that would make it simpler to program.
