Hunting Simulator 2 PS5 Free Download Unfitgirl NACON and Neopica have released their Hunting Simulator 2 on the next-gen consoles with technical optimizations and additional content for hunters to enjoy. Boasting many features that take full use of the next-gen consoles, Hunting Simulator 2 brings the traditional 4K, 60 FPS experience to the PS5 and Xbox Series X that nearly all next-gen re-releases are shipping with. For the full review of Hunting Simulator 2, make sure you check out our review of the PS4 release as this review will strictly compare the PS5 version with the PS4 version and how much the game has improved. This is our review of Hunting Simulator 2 on the PS5 in which we shoot some animals in crispy 60 FPS and 4K. Most of the time, for my comparative reviews, mostly my platforms are different however this time around, I was able to compare the same platform but different generations. Having reviewed the original release on PS4, I was able to notice plenty of noticeable differences between the PS4 and the PS5 release, some of which are instantly visible right from the very first moment you begin playing the game on PS5. This is perhaps the loading times of the game. Taking full usage of PS5’s super-fast storage and increased processor power, the loading times are literally very short, and I do not remember any instance where I spent more than 2 seconds staring at a loading stage. Considering the fact that how big the maps are in Hunting Simulator 2; the loading times have surely shrunk and are literally next to none. The screen comes and goes within 2 seconds of showing. This is a massive improvement when compared with the PS4 release of the game. Once you have finally stepped out of your hunting cabin, you also instantly notice that the foliage is now thicker, and vegetation is now more detailed. This does not just mean that it looks more detailed and better, but the ground is now covered with more bushes and grass patches. While it was okay in the PS4 release, the PS5 version really increases the detail and the amount of vegetation in the maps. This however goes both ways because increased vegetation means even tougher hunts as you will be unable to see through the thick vegetation however you certainly enjoy the game more because it looks more realistic. With better ground textures as well, the bloodstains and tracks are now easily visible to your own self as well, and sometimes, you can just follow them to the animals yourself as well. Coming to the animals, the fur now looks a lot better in medium to high range but when zoomed in, sometimes the fur does look a little funny and out of shape. It looks like the fur has not been redone or improved for the next-gen release of the title and still is the same as that of the PS4 release of the game.

Own hunter’s life, but without story

In fact, Hunting Simulator 2 does not offer a story, or so far, because today, March 25, 2021, a story DLC called A Rangers Life will be released. In the base game, however, there is only one free mode in which you can let your hunter’s life run free after the tutorial. You start out as a simple hunter with a single license. You can then buy new licenses in your hunter’s house, because it is forbidden to shoot animals for which you do not have a license. Once you have obtained your desired license, you can choose one of the many rifles, shotguns or bows and go hunting on a total of six maps in Europe or Colorado. As a little helper you have a dog with you that can follow tracks and also helps with other things during the hunt. Basically, Hunting Simulator 2 is not a real shooter, because you really shoot very little. Most of the time you follow tracks, hide in the hide or look for the right animal first. However, you really learn something about the behavior of different animals and how a hunter should deal with it. The draw distance on the PS5 is also greatly improved however it is still a little dull in open maps where the far areas look really weak in visual quality and only render fully when you get closer to them. While PS5 still has its visual limitations, the game still lacks and I think that it could have been a little bit better. This is especially visible in open areas where the far-off places look like something straight out of a PS2 title with little to no rendering and just some placeholder visuals in place. Most of the maps do not allow such huge viewing distances but two maps in the game have vast, open plains with high mountains which give you a clear view of these plains and the visuals really lack here. Coming to the DualSense controller, Hunting Simulator 2 does not really make use of much of the new features of the controllers. The most feedback I felt was the vibration of the two feet in either section of the controller. The right foot would cause vibration in the right section while the left foot would cause vibration in the left section of the controller causing a rhythmic vibration as your character walks or runs in the game. Unfortunately, despite it being a shooter, the adaptive triggers do not offer any sort of enhanced feedback, you just use them normally for aiming and shooting without any resistance or anything in them which is a little disappointing. Apart from this, there is no extra use of the DualSense’s advanced feedback or adaptive triggers. The developers were probably too lazy to add extra feedback for the DualSense controller so they went with the same feedback as both next-gen consoles. While Hunting Simulator 2 is a decent release for the PS5, I was disappointed to see that the DLC for the game is still not included in the re-release and you still have to purchase it separately. With the next-gen release, a single-player story mode ‘Ranger Mode’ is also part of the game however I have not yet played it since it is a paid DLC for the title. There are multiple other packs as DLC as well which are also paid and if you want them, you have to dish out additional money to enhance your experience in Hunting Simulator 2. Also, there is no way to upgrade your PS4 version to the PS5 version at this point so if you bought the game on the previous-gen, you would have to buy it again for the next-gen.

Hunting Simulator 2: Shooter oder Walking Simulator?

The Hunting Simulator has been improved again especially for the PS5 and, in addition to support for the adaptive triggers, also offers better haptic feedback. In general, you are mostly in the first person view and have the weapon in front of you in a classic way. There is also a third person view. The adaptive triggers work like in any other shooter and offer appropriate resistance when pulling the trigger. The haptic feedback, on the other hand, is surprisingly very good. You can feel through the controller what surface you are walking on and how high the grass is, for example. The gameplay was implemented very consistently and conveys the “hunter’s life” well Hunting Simulator 2 on the PS5 takes full use of the increased power offered by Sony’s next-gen console and delivers a hunting experience that is fluid and prettier than before. The enhanced textures and 4K support really make the game shine on the PS5. If you love hunting and want a crispier experience, you should definitely opt for the next-gen release of the Hunting Simulator 2. It is also the only hunting title currently optimized for the PS5 so if you are looking forward to hours and hours of hunting, Hunting Simulator 2 will make sure that you have your fun without actually killing any of the animals in real life. Just make sure that you are ready for some grinding. Diablo 3: Eternal Collection

One of the most important things to note right off is that unlike most other publishers Nacon has been skipping out on offering free upgrades for their games. In my review of Monster Truck Championship, I mentioned that those who had already played the game would have little reason to pay for the PlayStation 5 version because the improvements wouldn’t be worth paying full price again. Hunting Simulator 2 is the same case where if you bought this game on previous generation consoles last year then I can’t really recommend you pay full price again for this upgraded version. I’ll go into what’s different about it below but there definitely isn’t enough here to warrant a double dip. If there was a free upgrade or maybe a small fee to upgrade it might be worth checking out for previous owners but as it stands you can safely pass on it. I would best describe Hunting Simulator 2 as a relaxing first-person shooter. A tutorial at the start will teach you some of the basics before you set off to explore and hunt dozens of animals across several locations in Europe, Texas, and Colorado. Before you start off your hunt, you’ll need to prepare everything that you’ll need including your guns and ammo and licenses for whatever animals you’re going to be hunting. You need a license because if you try and shoot an animal while out and about that you don’t have a license for then you’ll get big red notification on the middle of the screen that you can’t hunt it. Bringing along your canine companion is also a must in my opinion both so you don’t feel lonely out in the wild and also because the dog is very useful. They can find tracks for you as well as other signs of the animal you may be hunting. Oh, and yes you can absolutely pet the dog in Hunting Simulator 2.

Precise engineering on the PS5

While the title may suggest violence and shooting, Hunting Simulator 2 is a surprisingly meditative game. Sure, on the most basic level, it’s a shooter – but you’ll pull the trigger so rarely that it barely qualifies, despite the large number of weapons and gear at your disposal. Ultimately, it serves a better role as an educational walking simulator. The game dedicates its time to making sure you hunt properly, requiring all the paperwork and faff that goes with prepping for a hunt. You have to keep track of how many of a given animal you’ve hunted, use the correct calibre, take a specific number of shots, and more. This dedication to proper procedure, while maybe a nuisance on the surface, is, after all, the whole point. All of this makes up about half the game, while the other half is actually tracking down your prey. There are a number of approaches, but far and away the best is to bring a companion tracking dog with you, and, yes, you can pet them. Letting your dog do the tracking leaves you free to take in the beauty of the environments. All six of the levels offer wildly different biomes, and are all relaxing to wander through.

While your dog – whom we affectionately dubbed Joh Yowza – tracks down your next victim, it’s remarkably freeing to gently lope through a forest with naught but the sounds of nature as your company. The lands you can roam are generally pretty crowded with quarry, so you never have to wander too far to find a new target. Just make sure you don’t make too much noise. It is very much a “what you make of it” experience, though, as outside of a tutorial, there’s no narrative structure. There is an upcoming DLC which adds a “story mode”. It’s rather confounding that the next-gen version of the game doesn’t just include this – especially since there’s no free upgrade path, nor are there really any substantial upgrades – but the content on offer is still reasonably expansive. The maps are huge, and have points of interest to discover littered throughout. Really the only obstacle for enjoyment is your own patience and just how much time you’re willing to spend doing all the less-than-thrilling activities.Diablo 3 + Online

We hoped that haptics would have been front and centre, just as they were for the wonderful WRC9 PS5 port. Sadly, the only thing it shares is a publisher in Nacon, rather than the developer in Kylotonn. Neopica haven’t done anything with the DualSense other than basic rumble. Hearing an animal cry emanate from the controller for example. Nope, nothing. Ultimately this is the same game as released back in June last year, so the same failings remain. The fact you get penalised when you can’t retrieve your quarry is still a problem. We shot a duck and it floated just a few feet away from us. Our dog swam around it having a whale of a time. Then another we shot and despite our dog having sniffed it out, the cadaver remained sight unseen.

Note: This game will only run on consoles with the original firmware that are connected to the PSN online account and purchased the game from PSN.
