Virtual Cottage Free Download Unfitgirl When I have a stressful day, I turn to video games. When I have a really stressful day, I turn to soothing, calming games. It’s not enough for me to turn on nice music, as I tend to tune it out — there’s something about having a game running, even in the background, that settles my soul. For a long time, I used Kind Words (lo fi chill beats to write to) to get the effect I needed, but the problem was that I found myself very distracted by it. It’s still 2019 GOTY material and I’m grateful for the title, but I couldn’t stop myself from writing letters to other players or clicking on all the paper airplanes. As much as I still genuinely love Kind Words (lo fi chill beats to write to), I needed something less. Something like Virtual Cottage. Developed and self-published by German indie team DU&I, Virtual Cottage is less a game and more of a chill application. Available on Steam for the low, low price of free.99, Virtual Cottage offers more than the viral YouTube sensation lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax/study to yet pares down a game like Kind Words (lo fi chill beats to write to). A happy medium between two beloved lofi standouts, Virtual Cottage has already racked up 1,382 positive reviews at the time of this writing, receiving the coveted Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam. And only after a few hours of having it open, it’s pretty easy to see why that’s the case. Unfitgirl.COM SEXY GAMES

Getting Virtual Cottage set up is simple — first, input the activity you’ll be doing while you have the game open. For the time I’ve spent with Virtual Cottage, it’s mostly been working, but I like to break it down to individual tasks to see how long they’ll take, like writing an article or answering emails. After that, there’s a timer to set followed by the option of playing a sound after time’s up. I definitely prefer having that timer, as it mentally forces me to try to beat the clock when it comes to tasks. After everything’s set up, you’re literally placed in your virtual cottage. It’s very cozy here — a girl is seated at a desk, moving her head to the beat as she presumably works or studies at her computer. A cat sits by her feet, its tail tapping gently alongside her. A loft is situated to her right, a comfortable, soft bed encompassing the entire half floor. Back on the first floor is a quaint little kitchen underneath the loft, complete with an empty food dish (perhaps that’s why the cat is close by). There are lots of little lively touches, like plants, books, and rugs, that make the space feel much more like home. It’s warm here, no matter what time of day it is, and I’m immediately calmer visualizing myself being here. Of course, the music helps set that relaxing mood; these lofi tracks definitely sound more like what you’d hear on the YouTube channel than Kind Words

Adorable, Cozy Atmosphere

Tracks did, which, depending on your preference, either makes a difference or doesn’t. I personally found the music more energetic and upbeat than what I was expecting, but that’s okay — it’s all good here. One thing I did wish for was an ability to modify the tracklist, like muting songs I didn’t enjoy as much so that I could hear the ones I loved the most as the songs tend to repeat instead of cycling to the back of the playlist, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I think one thing that would help the game more would be additional songs over time, but considering the game is free, it’s not like I’m being shafted here. Overall, the OST is soothing, and that’s what matters most. The best thing about Virtual Cottage is the ability to add or remove rain effects. With the click of a button, the weather changes from bright and sunny to a lovely rainy day, complete with the visuals of rain drizzling outside. I thought it was particularly clever to be able to adjust the intensity of the rain from the main menu, a slider allowing a spectrum of a light sprinkle to a legitimate storm. In fact, you can even pause the music and just listen to rain sounds, and since you can’t really hear the loop’s cut, it certainly reduces the blood pressure. If I have one real complaint — which I find myself somewhat hesitant to talk about considering the game is free — it’s that there might be too little to do. Love Cumedy

I understand the point of it is simply to have a game version of the hit YouTube channel, but when there isn’t much to do in terms of interaction, there’s a real question as to why even bother with the game if the channel has a wider song selection. I would have loved to see some movement on the cat, or maybe an option to personalize the cottage with color swaps or different items. Small changes throughout the day, like an empty cup of tea or hair slowly coming out of the bun — something — would have really set the game more apart from the channel that inspired it. Anything more would have been so lovely, but, again, with a free game, it’s hard to ask for much more than its existence. Despite my minor complaint, I genuinely love Virtual Cottage and can see myself sticking with it as a productivity tool for quite awhile. I’m using it as we speak to write this article, setting a timer of an hour and already seeing an increase in my general output. In that sense, it’s already done its job without the need for extra stuff; still, I won’t lie — I would have paid for a more complete experience if it meant being able to customize or see more action. In the very least, I’m just happy to feel less stressed and more productive. Virtual Cottage may have slipped under your radar this year, and I’m here to tell you that it would be a big mistake to continue to ignore it.

Handy To-Do List

There’s really no reason not to download this wonderful and wonderfully soothing little title. It may feel a little limited to those expecting an interactive game, but for those looking for a chill experience, you’ll absolutely find it here. If you enjoy lofi hip hop radio and want to study/relax to its game counterpart, download Virtual Cottage today for free and watch your productivity go up while your blood pressure drops. Designed as a cozy, distraction-free environment, Virtual Cottage is simple at its core. Players list out what they want to focus on for the day, determine how long they want things to go, and choose whether or not they want a sound after the timer runs out. From there, players can let the program run its course as they attend to other things. Once things are underway, there are a few variables at play. Players can start a rainstorm at a moment’s notice, mute or resume the music, or just watch the brunette girl bob her head to the music. The bright colors and mellow vibes provide a feeling of serenity, and it is easy to get lost in its world. Its tracklist is par for the course as well. Most music aficionados aren’t clamoring for the release of saiko’s untitled or Blnkspc_’s Sticky, but the nine tracks that make up its soundtrack are still welcome nonetheless. It is just a shame that these tracks are played in order each and every time; those looking to rearrange things or listen to a specific track must go through the rest of the set list before getting to the song they want. This seems like a major oversight, but it is not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. We’d like to think so. To serve as a litmus test, we set it up for 60 minutes and did some work in the meantime. The music and rain effects did what they should, and the relaxing aesthetics worked well in a second window while we were crunching away with metrics and copy. It’s not the most in-depth or versatile style service out there, and the selection of music is somewhat lacking, but as a free program on Steam it achieves what it sets out to do. Just don’t be surprised if one gets tired of Virtual Cottage sooner rather than later. Without much interactivity or achievements, this package can be experienced in its entirety in around an hour. This equates to a CD’s worth of content. This isn’t bad, but compared to the 24/7 station, it doesn’t really have the same impact. Virtual Cottage has got the lo-fi beats and the atmosphere, but the song selection and number of options is somewhat lacking. Those that don’t mind tunes on repeat will dig its tracks, but it just doesn’t have the same impact as the infamous YouTube live stream. As someone who loves listening to lo-fi when deep diving into studying or work, I found that Virtual Cottage offers a wonderful way to focus and stay on task. Virtual Cottage is a cozy app developed by indie game developer DU&I.

Relaxing White Noise

This adorable program provides a productivity timer and lo-fi beats in a cozy cottage package. After getting about 8 hours of productivity in, Virtual Cottage got me through weekend work and even some of the writing for this very article. Granted, you may be able to use any regular timer or lo-fi channel. But, Virtual Cottage offers a way to identify what you need to do, how long you want to spend on it, without the overstimulation that comes with using an internet browser. (All without the disruption of persistent ads.) DU&I created an app that offers just the right amount of animation, settings and interactivity to allow for optimal productivity. All without competing for your attention. There are so many things to love about Virtual Cottage, not only as a productivity timer but also as an artfully designed app that offers a little bit of everything! The artfully designed graphics and cozy vibe of the tiny-house-inspired cottage make for a relaxing studying or writing session. Depending on the time of day, the lighting of your virtual cottage changes from early morning to midday to nighttime. Your virtual cat can even be seen tootling around the cottage! Of course, Virtual Cottage finds a balance by providing just the right amount of detail to create a comfortable environment and minimize distractions. The darker berry-like colors used for the background are also very easy on the eyes, which I greatly appreciate as a person who uses computers frequently. L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files

Customizable Timer It offers a fully customizable timer, where you identify a task, how long you’d like to work, and if you’d like a notification when the time is up. You even get achievements for sticking to it! I honestly found this to be a great feature that not only helps you stay on-task but manage time efficiently. While the To-Do List wasn’t present in the release of this app, it has proven to be a wonderful addition. This optional feature is super cute and great for larger projects with multiple steps. This To-Do List is essentially a text block where you can record up to three subtasks to complete in your session. (Not to mention everyone loves a good list.)  Relaxing Lo-Fi Music Player Of course, you can’t overlook the lo-fi beats on Virtual Cottage. With the music player at the bottom of the screen, you can play, pause, shuffle and turn up the volume on the app’s selection of songs. This player also provides the name and artist of the song. On the right-hand side of the app, you can find a few different options for white noise (if you so wish)! This is a great option for those who work well when listening to predictable, relaxing nature sounds such as snow, rain, fire crackling, and wind. My personal favorite setting combines a medium volume of lo-fi with a low crackling of the fireplace.  Improved White Noise The first element I noticed that could use improvement was the white noise sounds.

The fireplace and snow sounds were realistic; however, the rain and wind sounded slightly manufactured—in a way. This could of course come down to simple personal preference but is definitely something to note. Greater Achievement Focus Gamification plays a huge role in getting anyone to do anything. This can not only be utilized in video games but everyday tasks as well. For this reason, I think Virtual Cottage could use this video game psychology to the users’ benefit. This could be done by including a more visual or clear achievement system. Right now, you have to travel outside the app and into its Achievements section on Steam to view your progress. However, if users could see their achievement progress while in the app, that might add an extra incentive to get a little more work done! Larger Music Library Lastly, while the selection of lo-fi music is wonderful, I wish there was a larger library that Virtual Cottage could pull from. After working on something for about an hour or so, it sounded like the app had run through its playlist already. While ambitious, a live stream of lo-fi music would be a fantastic idea to keep new, fresh music going. Where can you get Virtual Cottage? Overall, if you are a gamer and struggle with time management or focusing for longer periods (like myself), Virtual Cottage is an adorable and fun way to get things done.
