Monster Girl Quest Free Download Unfitgirl Maybe it was dumb luck or maybe it’s just my destiny to follow the natural progression from gamer, to weeb to full blown degenerate, but a few months ago I tried my first ever hentai game, Monster Girl Quest. I did so on recommendation from a fellow degenerate but it was still mostly a whim and I went in with pretty low expectations. The original MGQ is a visual novel and in a lot of ways it’s what you’d expect from a VN. Hyper linear and lots of reading. Though MGQ does have turn based combat like an old school RPG so that does break up the pacing a bit and makes it feel more like an actual game at times. Gameplay aside, I was blown away by the quality of the story and the characters. Normally I’m not the sort of person to get overly emotional at things. I’m the asshole that laughed at pretty much all of the early deaths in Attack on Titan, but this game managed to actually make me cry a couple of times. (This post will contain spoilers btw.) One of the times I cried was the story of a character called Lazarus. Lazarus was the best friend of Marcellus, the father of the main character, Luka. After many tragic experiences in life including losing the use of his right arm and watching 2 of his friends get turned into pulp right in front of him, Lazarus had become a hateful and bitter person that lived only for revenge, and he expected Marcellus to always be as hateful and bitter as he was. But Marcellus started to change, his views became less radical, he had a family, he stopped seeking revenge and he slowly drifted away from Lazarus. Eventually Lazarus confronted Marcellus and drew his sword. In his heart Lazarus wanted to be defeated by Marcellus. He wanted Marcellus to show him a better path so he wouldn’t have to live the rest of his life full of bitterness and anger. And Lazarus knew that Marcellus was a master swordsman, far superior to a crippled untalented thug like him. But when Lazarus struck, Marcellus just stood there and took it. As Lazarus watched his friend bleed to death in his arms he remembered that Marcellus was also injured in the fight that claimed his arm. Lazarus had thought the injury to be relatively minor, but the reality is it had left Marcellus almost completely blind. He was even more crippled than Lazarus, the man that just butchered his last friend. After that Lazarus became a drunk as being sober meant living in a nightmare of his own creation.

Characters

Many years later, Luka confronts Lazarus about the death of his father. Luka isn’t even angry at first, he just wants to know what the hell happened, but Lazarus is too ashamed to tell him the truth, that he killed his father on accident because he wanted to be saved from his own misery and weakness. So Lazarus shades the truth a bit, he makes no excuses and says that he was glad to kill Marcellus. Fast forward through a whole lot of other events in the story and eventually Lazarus ends up sacrificing himself to save Luka. He goes out in one last blaze of glory as he becomes an avatar for the spirit of fire. With his last words Lazarus asks Luka to bury him next to Marcellus. Even though Luka never learned the truth of what happened he understands and forgives Lazarus. That shit caught me off guard. It was because of that and other things that cut deep that caused me to look into the sequel, Monster Girl Quest: Paradox. Overview Monster Girl Quest: Paradox is not a visual novel. It’s a turn based RPG specifically designed to be an homage to the classic Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy games. Except everything in it is amped up to 11. I’m not gonna make some outlandish claim and say it’s the best game of all time or any nonsense like that, but I will say that to me it’s damn near perfect and the flaws it does have are minor and massively overshadowed by everything the game does right. I’m gonna break down all those things individually. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Switch NSP

I’m gonna try and keep this section brief since this is CharacterRant not GameDesignRant but I feel it’s necessary to contextualize some things. This game is fucking massive. Not counting AFK time, (Game timer is paused when tabbed out or in the menu.) it took me 166 hours to finish my first playthrough of the main story. And keep in mind this game is episodic and only 2 out of 3 episodes are out currently, so the final game will be even longer. The game also has 2 different story routes, (Broad strokes are the same but a lot of details are different.) lots of mutually exclusive story choices that actually matter and with NG+ you canonically go back in time which alters the story in small but significant ways. There’s also a postgame mega dungeon called the Labyrinth of Chaos which has an absurd amount of things to progress your characters along with enemy scaling up to floor 4 million along with the hardest superbosses I’ve ever seen in an RPG. Everyone thinks they hot shit till they find out the World Breaker is immune to all damage types. Battle with these entities becomes a game of chess/cosmic base race where you’re trying to setup a damage dealer to bypass immunities while also layering your own immunities with cheat deaths and AoE auto revives. Getting fully set up for part 3’s release I plan to put in around 1000 hours.

Gameplay

And the game was clearly designed with this insanity in mind. In a lot of turn based RPGs I find that the mechanics don’t match the length of the game. For example in Chrono Trigger, even if you do 0 grinding as long as you’re not amazing at skipping enemies you will master every technique long before you hit the end of the game, which kind of invalidates that part of character progression later on. Not so in MGQ: Paradox. This game has 153 classes. Each class has 10 levels. Abilities can be yoinked from other classes to give you an insane level of build customization. Each character also gets access to different subraces. There’s hundreds of these. But enough about the gameplay. This is weeb shit. If you don’t like weeb shit turn back now. Still here? Paradox takes place both before and after the first game. Before in the sense that this is Luka from just before the start of his journey, after in the sense that this is a different universe but in the cosmic timeline the events of the first game already happened. So the game deals with time travel and alternate universes, something that I personally like when done well and dislike when it becomes incoherent. It’s done well here of course. To give a basic rundown of the plot, 30 years before the start of the game an event takes place called The Great Disaster, a massive earthquake that ripped apart continents and spawned these strange rifts full of eldritch abominations. These rifts are known as Tartarus. The world mostly recovers from this since the creatures of Tartarus, while they do kill anything and everything on sight they don’t wander outside Tartarus so local governments typically just post guards at the rift entrances to keep people out. Years after that Luka’s father Marcellus leaves his family behind to go on a journey saying only that he must stop the spread of darkness across the world. A few years later, Luka’s mother, Lucifina, becomes ill and dies. Marcellus never once returned to see her even when she was on her deathbed. After the death of his mother Luka resolves to set out on his own journey to find his father. Luka does not angst about this, rather he wants to help his father as he assumes his journey must have been exceptionally difficult if he was unable to return even once in all these years. +1 To the writing for not making Luka an angsty little shit with daddy issues.

MOSTE INTERESTING TRAVELS MOSTER GIRL QUEST

On the day when Luka comes of age he goes to receive a blessing from his local church before setting out on his journey. During the ceremony Ilias the goddess of the church descends down from the heavens with a message for Luka. This is highly abnormal as Ilias had not been heard from in any way since the Great Disaster. But there is something wrong with Ilias, she is distorted and her words come out garbled like a broadcast with a weak signal. Even so Luka gets the gist of what she says. Stop the spread of darkness or everything dies. So to make a long story short, Luka goes on his journey. He looks for his father, explores the Tartarus rifts and finds that they lead to other universes. And some of these universes are in bad shape. Like about to stop existing bad shape. His journey leads him and his harem into conflict with all kinds of eldritch entities, extradimensional aliens and chaos gods as well as more mundane threats like a few world wars. I can only speculate about how Luka’s journey will end, but all throughout the game I got the distinct sense that the situation is generally hopeless and some of the characters agreed. One of the characters, the White Rabbit, has narrative manipulation powers and is aware that they all live in a video game, and according to her the game’s ending sucks. There’s no way to win and in the end everyone dies because the real threat has just been toying with them the whole time, and even with her powers to manipulate the game’s code even she isn’t nearly powerful enough to defeat whatever’s coming for them.

The game’s plot goes to some very strange places but it’s rare that any game’s plot can intrigue me so much so I find this hard to criticize. Maybe it will fall short in the end but I have faith seeing everything that came before. The cast of Paradox is enormous. I haven’t sat down and counted, but there’s probably around 30 or so really important characters not counting villains. This post has gotten really long so I’ll try to be brief. I find nearly all of the characters to be very likeable, (Even the villains.) and nothing they ever do comes off as incoherent or out of character But they’re not bland either. The devs do take risks with the characters and give them nuance, they just don’t fuck anything up. And the characters and game all have a great sense of humor which never ruins the tension. The dramatic moments remain dramatic with no one cracking wise at inappropriate times, (Looking at you MCU.) but they do still manage to make me laugh. Disgaea 4 Complete+ Switch

One of the little moments that made me laugh was when a succubus trapped the party in an extradimensional space that she created. She created a bunch of little challenges that the party would need to complete to escape her realm. One of these is a locked door which the succubus telepathically informs the party will only open if one of them can score a 90 or above at karaoke. The catch is that it must be a man doing the singing, and while he tries to sing one of the succubus’s assistants will “distract” the singer. It’s a hentai game, use your imagination. After a few men in the party attempt the challenge and fail a character named Promestein examines the door’s mechanism. Promestein is basically a moderately more sane Professor Farnsworth. She notes that the mechanism for the door is a rather simple electronic lock and it will open as soon as the karaoke machine reads 90 points. So she gets a devilish grin on her face and says, (Paraphrasing.) “Even though it’s against the rules it doesn’t technically have to be a man singing. Also there’s no reason we can’t just kill the assistant.” The assistant does a double take and then the party jumps her, knocks her unconscious and ties her up in the corner then the idol you recruited 100 hours ago basically takes over the stage. The succubus that’s been watching the whole time via magic is just like, “What the hell, I thought they were supposed to be the good guys but they’re more violent than me… What have I gotten myself into? I’m actually gonna die.”
