WWE 2K16 Free Download Unfitgirl Wrestling games have been lost in a foggy region between arcade and simulation for well over a decade, but last year, WWE 2K15 took a big risk by pushing further into simulation territory than ever before. Despite how divisive this decision proved to be, WWE 2K16 doubles down on that, and it’s all the better for it. I’m used to thinking about resource management and move spacing when I play fighting games, but not in a wrestling game. 2K16 has me thinking that way, and it rewards me for it, and despite the fact that it’s still missing some features I love, that kept me coming back bout after bout. Developers Yukes and Visual Concepts were on the right track last year when they added a stamina system and a chain wrestling system to create a greater sense of pace, and they’ve built on those successes beautifully .At the center is the reworked reversal system, which makes reversals a limited, slowly regenerating resource. Managing it correctly means you’ve got the ace in the hole you need to escape scary late-match situations, where a less frugal opponent might find themselves forced to absorb a beating. Not only does this create a welcome layer of decision-making previously absent from the series, it adds an extremely meaningful differentiation between characters, as some have more reversal stocks than others. Working in tandem with the excellent reversal system are the new Working Holds. Wrestling smarks know these are holds that performers use to catch their breath mid-match, and WWE 2K16 smartly incorporates them in a competitive context here. Car Detailing Simulator

Successful working holds restore your stamina while sapping your opponent’s – effectively allowing you to stall out their offense until you can get some reversal stocks back. That’s just one possible tactic you might employ. The pressure to stall or scrape by until you have the resources you need, and the incentive to force your opponent to waste theirs opens the fighting up tremendously. The net result is matches that have a greater sense of variety and ring psychology. Options I used to never care about, like escape-rolling out of the ring, or having a manager distract my opponent suddenly become totally valid choices, since it buys me time to catch my breath. I’ll lay on the ground and let my opponent land a few kicks if I see them getting close to having a finisher, since that’s the bullet that needs dodging. I even started learning which moves, when reversed, give me a big enough window of opportunity to get an attack in, letting those that don’t slide. The net result is matches that have a greater sense of variety and ring psychology; blurring the line between playing to win and putting on a show. Most wrestling fans agree that showmanship is at least as important as technical, in-ring ability, and WWE 2K16 doesn’t quite nail all its big spots in this regard. Technically, it’s kind of all over the place: there are no load times between ring entrances, lending a seamless, TV-broadcast feel to match openings, but the loads between other modes, and even just to preview a costume piece in create-a-wrestler can be painful.

Feed. Me. More

Sometimes the AI behaves uncannily like the wrestler you know and love, like when Seth Rollins tries to DQ himself to retain the belt, and other times, they quizzically zone out and sort of stare off into space. This same inconsistency spills over into other areas. Visually, some character models and effects look terrific, like during Randy Orton’s ring entrance, while guys like Chris Jerico seem to be holdovers from the last-gen days. WWE 2K16 doesn’t quite nail all its big spots Finally, the commentary has improved greatly, with far fewer repeated phrases, and more specific insight into many wrestlers’ fighting style and history, but it’s not all the way there yet. There are still a few too many general move callouts, making the play-by-play a bit flat at times. No one issue is big enough to ruin the fun, but together they can periodically undercut the tension and excitement the in-ring action builds so effectively. The biggest criticism leveled at last year’s game was the anemic roster, and the overall lack of modes and features compared to prior years. WWE 2K16 largely rectifies this, but its bag of tricks hasn’t quite gotten back to the point of overflowing yet. The one exception is in the roster which is, quite frankly, nuts. In terms of separate individual wrestlers, you’re looking at over 120, including many NXT-born stars, who fans were clamoring for last year. Not only are they a joy to play in their own right, but they add some much-needed diversity to the roster. In terms of match types, much of what we lost last year is back. After WWE 2K15 failed to bring the series into the current generation of consoles smoothly, developer Yuke’s has attempted a course correction that sets backwards the strides the franchise had made with combat while failing to address the jarring lack of personality in any mode of the game that wasn’t last year’s rivalries focused 2K Showcase. Though this year’s massively expanded roster is a step up from the paltry offerings of last year, the return of most of the creation suites that were missing come back in gutted forms. And the series’ attempt to have the Career mode ape similar modes in traditional sports games manages to entirely miss the point of what makes pro wrestling special. It isn’t entirely doom and gloom for ‘rassling fans, though. The 2K Showcase mode remains the primary reason to come back. While last year’s 2K Showcase focused on rivalries (particularly CM Punk vs. John Cena and Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels), this year features a single performer: Stone Cold Steve Austin. As a retrospective of the Texas Rattlesnake’s career, 2K Showcase is a nostalgic, beer-drinking, ass-whooping blast from the Attitude Era past. Whether you grew up during Austin’s reign on top of the WWE or came to the fold years later, the mode includes a bevy of video packages that provide ample reason to care about this man and his feuds with the McMahons, Bret Hart, the Rock, and more. However, the best part of the whole mode is the return of Jim Ross, who records original commentary for your matches.

Holes in the Show

As one of the best commentators in all of pro-wrestling, it makes you wish you could hear his voice during the rest of the game. Little else in the game makes much of a positive impression. WWE 2K15, while having its own issues, still featured some of the best combat in the series, and introduced a stamina meter which added a measured pace to matches. This year, Yuke’s has attempted to solve a problem that existed in the series for years now: an overabundance of reversals and counters. At first sight, Yuke’s solution–finite-but-recharging reversal meters–seems elegant. However, you have too few counters for reversal use to be tactical. Plus, in matches where you’re fighting multiple opponents, the inability to counter at will means you’re open to repeated attacks until you have a charge, which you use… usually before being subjected to further attacks again. Considering that the previous games’ counter system carried its own flaws, a new approach is most welcome, yet in this instance the changes have only made matters worse. The wonky hit detection and collision issues from WWE 2K15 are also not addressed. The space in which you can and cannot pull off certain moves is as vague and seemingly arbitrary as ever. You can jam the button to grab an opponent repeatedly, and your player will just stand over your opponent as they slowly get back up. Even when you have reversal charges left, the space in which those counters do and don’t work is often a mystery. Plus, your list of moves to perform has been shortened, leading to a simplified combat system. Chocobo GP Switch NSP

Just like last year, the MyCareer mode starts out promising, with fully voiced cutscenes from NXT head trainer Jason Albert. After you create a superstar, you make decisions that align you as a face or a heel. However, after that new car smell dissipates, you realize that the only “scripted” story moments you get are through cutscenes with WWE backstage personality Renee Young asking you the same five or six questions over and over again, or having your rivals interfere in your matches. Watching a WWE Superstar rise from NXT to the main roster and potentially become the WWE champion (à la Seth Rollins) isn’t just about seeing them improve in the ring or get wins and secure belts. It’s also about watching them grow as characters and performers. It’s about the memorable twists and turns their feuds and rivalries provide (which the 2K Showcase highlights well). Earlier WWE games understood this and provided tightly scripted career modes. Yuke’s treats it like a legitimate sports simulation–which wrestling isn’t and will never be–and provides few hooks to the experience once you realize how slowly your character’s stats advance. The highly touted expansion of the roster also isn’t as impressive as it first appears. Although the inclusion of all the men and women on the main roster, a healthy number of NXT performers, and a bevy of classic stars is welcome, there are still some unfortunate absences, namely the WWE’s Four Horsewomen: Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Bayley.

Educated Feet

In a game that features names that even hardcore wrestling fans have likely forgotten (Haku, Mikey Whipwreck, Savio Vega, and more), the exclusion of some of the most exciting performers in the entire company today is a glaring omission. Although the Create-A-Diva mode has returned, you can’t have a female performer rise through the ranks in MyCareer mode. Other problems from last year’s entry remain. The visuals range from impressive–Triple H and Randy Orton are two of the more realistic-looking members of the cast here–to unsightly. In some superstars, hair hangs in thick clumps. Eyes bulge out at creepy angles. Faces are shockingly blocky at times. It’s terribly uneven. Worse than the technical shortcomings, off-the-mark combat, and terrible omissions from the roster, Yuke’s failure to capture the heart of WWE makes WWE 2K16 such a disappointment. The modern WWE is overflowing with talent. The series’ inability to deliver on the magic of WWE’s characters and athletes, beyond number crunching and subpar combat, indicates that this series is still far from being able to relive the magic of the squared circle inside your living room. Last year’s entry made the tentative transition towards proper simulation, slowly edging away from the imbalanced arcade elements that had typified the series for so long. It felt more like a UFC game than ever, but there was a real potential there for developer Visual Concepts to give Yuke’s age-old systems a much-needed second wind. WWE 2K16 continues that crusade, adding even more systems to manage and consider – that statement might sound damning but these new changes are finally nailing the drama and athleticism of pro wrestling. Reversals, once abundant and easily spammable, are now a limited resource that gradually replenish over time. Coupled with the Stamina system reintroduced last year, matches instantly feel more nuanced. The number of reversal slots also differs between each Superstar – of course ‘Big Match’ John Cena has a full set compared to the likes of poor old Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro, but that’s a realistic representation of how things work in WWE right now, so it’s a smart addition. Adding an economy to your capabilities creates Street Fighter-style bar management that’s endlessly rewarding – you now feel like a proper pro wrestler more than ever, especially if you’re a mid-card crusader taking on a main event heavyweight. More importantly, it demands a change in tactics for different matchups, a requirement that’s largely evaded the series since its inception on PS1. The Chain Wrestling system added in WWE 2K15 and the newly added Working Holds (a similar system that emulates the headlocks and holds used to slow things down in the middle of a match) feel all the more relevant as you balance aggression with a rapidly exhausting body. In the ring, WWE 2K16 is a far smoother prospect than previous years. Animations transition together with far less stuttering and almost every Superstar and Diva on the inflated roster has had their character model overhauled. (Finally Seth Rollins has his proper gear and entrance – and yes, the Curb Stomp lives!)

Despite the improvements, there are still some odd flaws in the game’s presentation – despite working so hard to emulate WWE programming, WWE 2K16 doesn’t always use the same camera angles (especially on entrances) making it feel more like an adaptation than a true recreation. The new three-man commentary team is nice touch, the addition of JBL bringing another element of authenticity to the mix. When it comes to the roster, you can dry your eyes and banish the memories of last year’s lean and out-of-date offering. WWE 2K16 offers its biggest roll call yet with over 120 Superstars and Divas (not including the countless era-themed costumes). The developmental territory NXT gets a stronger showing with Finn Balor, Hideo Itami and Baron Corbin just some of the new faces added to the mix. However, the omission of fan favourites Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch rankles and with no plans to add them as DLC the Divas division feels a little underrepresented. Thankfully, almost all the match types dropped from 2K15 return, as do the creation suites (with the exception of Create-A-Finisher, but that was pretty pointless anyway). 2K Showcase, Visual Concepts’ answer to the story modes of old, returns for a second outing with chrome domed beer-swiller Stone Cold Steve Austin as its cover star. Covering some of his biggest matches, from his oft-forgotten clash with Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat at Bash At The Beach ‘94 to his incredible, announce table-destroying war with The Rock at WrestleMania XV and beyond, it’s a dream offering for Rattlesnake devotees.
