The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Switch NSP Free Download Unfitgirl Better late than never, some Nintendo Switch users must think. The reason is that finally, and after almost four years after its release on other platforms, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 makes its appearance in the hybrid of La Gran N . That’s right ladies and gentlemen, after a long wait we can finally live the adventures of Ivo (an Elf Princess), Wilbur (the first gnome capable of magic in several centuries), Nate (a human half adventurer, half scoundrel) and Critter (a little talkative pink creature). And don’t worry everyone, this second part is perfectly playable without having touched the first installment thanks to a brilliant start to the game and a tutorial that clearly shows the line that our adventure will follow both in terms of playability and narrative. Along these lines we will tell you how the world of magic, fantasy and fun created by King Art Games looks like. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 proposes us to live a choral adventure in a world inspired by the most classic fantasy. Elves, men, gnomes, goblins, trolls, wizards, sorceresses and strange animals coexist in it as in any story of the genre. Of course, the script and the situations mix epic fantasy with some elements of science fiction and with countless references to pop culture -cameos by Mario, Harry Potter, Internet culture and all the fauna that inhabits it and more than we will not count so as not to crush surprises. So many references that we could write a separate analysis about them. But the real stars of all this mix are the characters that we will control: Ivo, Wilbur, Nate and Critter. It is they, the protagonists, who carry most of the narrative weight of the game and it is thanks to them that we will be unable to separate ourselves from him until we know how his journey ends. From their hand we will live hilarious situations, very funny conversations and with them we will solve countless puzzles that are the ones that build the playable base of this point and click adventure. Because the protagonists have great charisma -and they are also very different from each other and, above all, very unconventional heroes-, so they are made very quickly with the affection and complicity of the player. Of course, this is one of the strong points on which the entire structure of King Art Games’ work is based. Thus, we will begin our journey accompanying Ivo, an Elf Princess, who is confined to her room by order of her mother. We will not gut part of the plot but it will help us to experiment with the controls and get used to its system. These first steps will also help us become familiar with the menus and buttons to confirm the actions we want to perform. Precisely with this we want to start this analysis, to get rid of one of the negative feelings that the title has left us. The control has seemed somewhat slow, inaccurate. We have even come to miss a mouse to carry out the commands at some points in the adventure. Opening the inventory, selecting the objects, using them, activating the necessary mechanisms to solve the puzzle in question becomes tiresome with the combination of buttons chosen. It has been a strange feeling that has nothing to do with the general tone of the game. Because we’re not going to lie to you, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is a very fun and rewarding graphic adventure, but you have to be patient with that detail. In addition, it is a great graphic adventure but with a very classic cut and that, perhaps, puts more than one back. And we explain.

Hundreds of weird, yet oddly logical puzzles

As we all know, the point and click adventures are based on the exploration of the scenarios -commonly closed and delimited areas-, in the conversation with the different characters that will give us small and subtle clues, in the collection of objects and in the definitive puzzle solving by combining everything we have collected. And so for the dozens of hours that the adventure can last. All this, explained like this, may seem somewhat tedious and repetitive and in fact there are times when we have needed a break to “detoxify” ourselves from so many puzzles. To all this we must add that some of them barely make sense or we are given clues for it, which sometimes causes us to go around the stage until we realize the matter.More than trial and error, the ingenuity of the player counts. What we have found to be a success is that the game gives us the possibility to “skip” a puzzle -not without leaving a comment with a certain retraction along the way- if we are not able to hit the key. That said, everything is for the good vibes that reign in this “unwritten book”. Fortunately for us, and especially for the future of the game, there are situations so funny that we forget this . We will also have the occasional secondary task apart from this style and that are greatly appreciated because they provide variety and oxygenate the gameplay. LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga PS5

However, all this will sound more than good for the most veteran fans of the genre. And we repeat it again, despite its classic cut, it is a magnificent adventure that no one should miss. Whether or not you are a fan of 90s-inspired graphic adventures. And one of the main reasons, leaving aside the less positive points, is precisely how beautiful the magical world that this saga has built is. The environments are precious and we will find a lot of variety in them. From an elven garden to a ruined magical school, magical libraries, castles or enchanted forests. The cream of the crop of fantasy, why go any further if the formula works and also invites general jokes. The fact that they are closed environments means that they are full of details – most of them related to the puzzles to be carried out or to insert a reference or joke. The characters stand out for their nice design and are always associated with the canons of the fantastic imaginary. Without a doubt, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 catches the eye for its colorful and inspired art design. It’s not just a pretty game to look at, as graphics aside, it’s also very solid in terms of performance. The game is stable at all times in both TV and Portable Mode. On this occasion we were surprised that both modes look equally good on the screen in terms of resolution and performance. This speaks of a very good optimization work by the studio. Lastly, we want to highlight a fantastic soundtrack full of very epic but also calmer songs that perfectly accompany everything that happens in the game. Some melodies that invite to be hummed from the opening credits.

The well-proven “Multi-Character-Gameplay”

Special mention to the good work of the dubbing actors who play all the characters with great pleasure. Of course, the voices in English. But don’t worry, as in the previous adaptations for the other platforms, the version for Nintendo Switch comes with texts translated into Spanish. We have to say that it is a great localization to our language since it keeps the jokes and many of the jokes and jokes are adapted to our language. King Art Games is an old-school adventure game developer whose latest entry into its acclaimed The Book of Unwritten Tales comedy point-and-click series – The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 – has now come to Switch. This new instalment sees you switch back and forth between the four returning heroes – Wilbur, Ivo, Nate and Critter – as they journey to resolve the mystery of why elements of the land keep shapeshifting. An adventure of 20-or-so hours of gameplay, how does this second trip to the land of Aventasia hold up at home and on the go? Exceptionally well, as it happens. An entirely standalone adventure, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 takes place soon after the evil witch Mortroga’s defeat. If you’ve not played the first instalment, don’t worry – there’s a spiffy (and appropriately witty) prologue that does a great job at getting you up to speed, with any additional necessary context being provided naturally in early character conversations. The unique personalities of each character shine through thanks to some top-notch voice acting, with Ivo, the distant elven princess wanting a life outside of her castle, is a particular highlight. All four characters do well pull you into this epic tale of wizards and gnomes in a way that’s rib-tickling, yet believable; I lost count of how many times simple British-isms like “cor, blimey!” made certain scenarios more chuckle-worthy. When it comes to the logic puzzles themselves, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 doesn’t do anything too drastic. Each scenario involves a problem to be overcome, and this is usually done by choosing the correct dialogue options, or connecting objects together. This style of sleuthing is a good reminder of how obtuse certain scenarios used to be in old adventure games, while here, I was never left scratching my chin for too long. Popular fantasy franchises like Lord of The Rings and Game of Thrones are all lovingly poked fun at, with much of the game’s humour being derived from lampooning familiar scenes and concepts. Even the character designs and environments help reinforce this eccentric style, with the bright colours really popping on the Nintendo Switch’s screen. Regrettably, there’s nothing unique to this version that will tempt anyone who’s played it before to double-dip, other than the slight visual flourish. Though, by playing it portably, I did come to appreciate The Book of Unwritten Tales 2’s strong attention to detail in this regard. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 might be a classic-style adventure game with a 21st century coat of paint, but it’s elevated in how it sets out to regale you with a funny fantasy tale and absolutely nails it. It’s a shame that Switch players currently can’t jump into the original game, but having such a witty adventure on the go makes this a welcome addition to the catalogue. More or less four years have passed since the first release of The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 on PC but the KING Art game still remains today one of the greatest expressions of modern graphic adventures in the classic point and click style. Of course, the reference system has undergone some changes in the meantime, with the usual rich production in the indie field and above all following the sensational return of Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick with Thimbleweed Park , which now represents a new paradigm for the genre also in the panorama.

contemporary, but The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is a fundamentally different creature, as we will try to illustrate in this review. For a long time now, graphic adventures of this type have no longer been included in the standard triple A production models, due to the natural evolution of the market that has led games of the genre to be increasingly decentralized to the margins of videogame development, dedicated to an audience of niche compared to the golden age of the 80s aHowever, point and click has never disappeared from the scene and has been fueled largely by indie production and in particular by a series of teams coming mainly from Europe (and from Germany in particular), protagonists of a real new wave of the graphic adventure, which also includes KING Art Games in full. The Book of Unwritten Tales is probably one of the best titles ever of this “new” wave of adventures, even if by now we can talk about consolidated products and well integrated into the modern industry. On the second chapter, therefore, fundamentally valid judgments remain that we expressed in the first review on PC and in the following one in iOS format , even if onNintendo Switch there are additional evaluations to be made. The two elements that mainly characterize the gaming experience, as far as graphic adventures are concerned, are certainly the narration (understood as a set of story, script construction and dialogue writing) and puzzle design and on both fronts The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 has reached really excellent quality levels. The story is complex and multifaceted, thanks to the presence of various charactersto be interpreted, each with a well-established background and highly developed personalities, able to thicken the plot with different narrative lines destined to intersect perfectly during the long adventure, which lasts about twenty hours and for a game of this genre it is a truly remarkable time.

The problem may be the fact of relying on the events that occurred in the first chapter to explain the starting elements in the history of each character, therefore to immediately appreciate the different personalities and motivations of each one, the ideal would be to know what happened before: but the progenitor has never been released on consoles, so it is advisable perhaps to recover the previous story in some way. It is not easy to handle fantasy without falling into rather abused themes and situations and now of little attraction for those who are not passionate about the genre, but one of the greatest merits of KING Art is precisely being able to play on the canonical elements of setting with intelligence and lightness, managing to parody but without making fun of it in an obvious way. As we said earlier, in some respects the writing here comes close to the spirit of Terry Pratchett, with his ability to blend elements of fantasy and fairytale into a kind of social satire that involves popular culture at different levels. The epic of the four protagonists goes through truly epic moments, but without ever taking oneself too seriously and managing not to flatten the protagonists on too standardized roles. All this happens above all thanks to the quality of the dialogues, which in some moments really comes close to the great LucasArts tradition (although, we repeat, Thimbleweed Park is placed on a much higher level on this front). It should be noted that the game is entirely spoken in English but with texts in Italian, characterized by a good translation. LEGO DC Super-Villains

In order to save their world from forced trivialization, we shoo Nate and Co. around in Point&Click style and solve combination puzzles. Sometimes we have to find body parts for a golem, sometimes we have to assist the undead in the mass production of the Aventasian version of a tablet (magic stones in a wooden frame) or we have to mix an anti-hangover shake. Although these tasks sound creative, they do not deviate from the well-known adventure scheme. We often get the feeling that we have solved similar puzzles umpteen times. Example hangover shake: In order to give the pick-me-up a proper pep, we have to learn the right shaking movements from the bartender monkey. This is somehow reminiscent of the monkey fight in Monkey Island 4 , but fortunately it’s not nearly as complicated. The same mechanic is also duplicated in another puzzle.
