Remothered Broken Porcelain Free Download Unfitgirl As a follow-up to 2018’s enjoyable stealth-based survival horror game Remothered: Tormented Fathers, Remothered: Broken Porcelain is both a sequel and a prequel – but that’s really just a polite way of saying I couldn’t make heads or tails of the chronology of its plot, and I’m not convinced its creators could either. Perhaps I was too distracted by its countless audio dropouts, freezes, broken controller inputs and baffling enemy behaviours to really be able to concentrate on straightening out the tangled threads of its nonlinear narrative. If nothing else, Remothered: Broken Porcelain is aptly named; like a shattered vase it lacks structure, each individual part is rough around the edges, and it’s not really worth the effort to try and piece them all together. At the very least the setting is an appropriately haunting one. Ashmann Inn is an antiquated hotel situated in a secluded snowy mountain region highly reminiscent of Stephen King’s The Shining. Certainly during its opening moments I enjoyed the eerie ambience of its dimly lit hallways as I, controlling the young protagonist Jennifer, indulged in a deadly game of hide and seek with the murderous, mind-controlled hotel maid Andrea (seemingly modelled on Annie from Stephen King’s Misery).But that enjoyment was about as short-lived as Stephen King’s career as a film director, because Remothered: Broken Porcelain simply can’t sustain the same level of cat and mouse tension that the original game could. This is largely due to Jennifer’s movement speed which is positively glacial in comparison to the swift gait of each enemy stalker. By the time you’ve slowly crouch-walked your way up behind one, they’ve already read a book, made a sandwich, and turned around and spotted you before the stealth attack prompt has managed to materialise over their head. Since attacking enemies from behind is your sole combat option for the most part, once detected your only course of action is to flee and hide until they’re no longer on high alert. This can also be problematic, as seen by the many times I went to hop into a locker and the ‘open locker’ button prompt failed to appear, resulting in me frantically shuffling back and forth trying to find it before copping the wrong end of a pair of sewing scissors in the jugular. The supernatural sensitivity of the enemy AI versus your own sluggishness and unreliable inputs doesn’t make for a fun stealth experience, just a frustrating one that made each area of Remothered: Broken Porcelain a chore to complete. Outside of these cumbersome enemy encounters, there’s surprisingly little else to do in Remothered: Broken Porcelain. There are significantly fewer environmental puzzles to solve than there were in Tormented Fathers, with only the occasional cracking of a safe combination to demand much in the way of lateral thought. Instead, Remothered: Broken Porcelain places an emphasis on Jennifer’s ability to temporarily teleport her consciousness into a moth and fly up to out of reach items or, in one instance, agitate a guard dog enough for Jennifer to slip by.

Realistic Survival Horror

It’s an interesting concept, but there’s no real scope for employing it outside of very specific story junctures, and when you do get to use it it’s like trying to pilot a remote-controlled drone through a room submerged in honey. The moth’s movements are seriously listless and it has a tendency to get stuck on parts of the environment. And since it can only be used in short bursts I’d often find myself switching to moth form, getting stuck in a wall on the way to my target, being beamed back to Jennifer, and then forced to wait for a cooldown timer to recharge before I could start the process over again. Aside from the aforementioned button prompts failing to appear when you’re trying to hide, there’s dialogue and ambient audio cutting in and out, characters getting stuck in scenery, game crashes, enemy stalkers pinning you between their body and the environment, confusing camera quirks, and more. It took me about 10 hours to complete my playthrough of Remothered: Broken Porcelain, but I’d estimate that at least a couple of those hours were a direct result of failing objectives due to glitches and retreading stretches after forced restarts. However, while fixing technical issues is of course appreciated, it’s going to take nothing less than a significant overhaul to smooth out Remothered: Broken Porcelain’s garbled story. The plot jarringly shunts forwards and backwards in time while being only loosely connected by cutscenes that end far too abruptly. The only shining light as far as the story is concerned are the handful of playable flashbacks that centre around Jennifer and her best friend Linn. They’re easily the most well-written exchanges in the entire ordeal and are set prior to the madness descending on the residents of Ashmann Inn, meaning they’re mercifully devoid of any sloppy combat sections. he more I write about indie games, the lower my level of frustration with yet another ruined concept or broken mechanic. The second part of the story about the mysterious trials of illegal drugs, transgender people and fragile heroines promised a mystical drama with cute girls in the trailers, but the output turned out to be an early access game with broken scripts and annoying gameplay. But even after the time that has passed since the release, the game still looks incredibly raw and broken. Investigate and Escape

Following a little training, in which you must lose in a confrontation with the unknown in order to continue the story, you are offered a slightly closer acquaintance with the main character – Jennifer. After leaving the women’s shelter, she works as a maid at the Ashmen’s hotel, where she began a romantic connection with another girl named Lynn, but it seems that the walls of the hotel hold much darker secrets. Soon, Jennifer is faced with incredible and inexplicable aggression from the manager and employees of the hotel, and escape to freedom becomes her priority. And this changes the gameplay – you, as a player, have to hide in cabinets and chests from numerous pursuers in an attempt to get key items or deliver a fatal blow to the enemy in the back. Over time, your young lady unlocks superpowers to control a moth, and in one of the special places you can upgrade a line of health or stealth improvements in exchange for collected keys. In addition, Jenn is able to craft distracting mechanisms from found items and improve basic weapons so that they do not fall apart after the first use. But all these original and at first glance attractive mechanics turn out to be useless in front of the suffocating gameplay. The fight with the first boss guarantees a lot of negative emotions due to its ability to accurately determine your location, cheating turns, even if you are sneaking in stealth mode, and just crooked controls with a camera flying away to the side. I managed to hit the second boss more than five times from the back in stealth before I realized that to run the script, I only need to pour it with a fire extinguisher a couple of times. Add to this a completely terrible system of aiming at objects that interfere with the passage of things, unsuccessful control of the moth for a while, freezes, broken scripts and other bugs, and you get a real gaming nightmare. But even if we forget about the broken game mechanics, the truth is that the authors never managed to create interesting and deep characters with really strong motivation or backstory. All that the creator of the project can offer you is another attempt to go out on an agenda relevant to the Western world with an LGBT drama. But even the relationship between Lynn and Jenn, advertised in the announcement trailers, is realized completely insipidly. The models of the main characters are well developed, as well as the interiors of the mysterious hotel. However, it’s 2020 outside the window now, and you won’t surprise anyone with modern graphics against the background of the software diversity available to indie studios. In her attempt to escape the Ashmann Inn, Jennifer breaks her arm and is forced to remain at the Inn. What follows suit is a confusing mess that is only made worse by the constant time jumps the game sends you through. Jenniffer finds herself in a battle to survive as all the Ashmann Inn residents go on a homicidal streak looking to end her life. Though the story this time around isn’t as interesting as the original, it does put all the missing pieces together from Tormented Fathers. Many of these answers didn’t sit well for me, but the fact that they were answered is much appreciated. That doesn’t mean all of it makes sense, though. There are some moments in the game that confused me. One character, for example, is killed off in the past. But returns in a future sequence to capture the main character only never to be seen or heard of again. Much like its predecessor, Broken Porcelain is a run and hide survival horror title. Your pursuers, unfortunately, are, for a better word, dumb. The enemy A.I. is absolutely atrocious. Pursuers will constantly get stuck around objects. Loose sight of you if you get ten feet ahead of them and are simply so easy to run past, I never felt threatened by them. It got to the point where I found stealth to be a waste of time. I would run to my objective, get the item I need, run fast enough away from my pursuer until they give up, or hide in a closet and lose interest.  Dead or Alive 6

Unfortunately, doing this can glitch out the pursuers, and they would get stuck while hunting you down and the chase music won’t stop, preventing me from continuing, which meant that I would have to restart the last checkpoint and do the whole sequence again. You do get items to distract your pursuers like radios or music boxes, but this keeps pursuers lingering for much longer. Other tools are self-defence items like knives and screwdrivers. These weapons are single-use and can only be used if you manage to sneak up on a pursuer from behind, but they seldom worked for me because I would be spotted the moment I would get close enough to pull off a sneak attack. If you manage to attack your pursuers, you can knock them out for a while and go about your business without worry, but again I never saw the point of it as it just took too much time for little to no gain. Puzzles involve you finding a specific item by finding another item. The puzzles themselves aren’t difficult, but finding out where you need to go can be an issue with almost no direction. I spent a lot of time simply going from room to room, trying to find the items I needed. Jennifer has the ability to control a moth to distract pursuers and solve puzzles, but this ability is only useful when the game needs you to use it. The only other thing to say about the Moth is how horrible it is to control and the short amount of time Jennifer can use this ability. You can upgrade Jennifer using Moth Keys that you find.

These abilities can reduce the noise you make when running and increase how long you can use the Moth. Now I don’t know if I didn’t see it, but I only found the special upgrade box one time in my entire playthrough about halfway through the game. There is one big positive I can say about Broken Porcelain: it has great music. The musical score is top-notch with plenty of memorable and haunting tracks. Though, I wish the voice work were on par with the musical score, it’s actually a step down from even Tormented Fathers. The franchise’s great character designs return this time around, at least when it comes to the pursuers; The Red Nun also makes a surprising return, but the rest of the cast is fairly dull outside of Jennifer’s best friend Lynn who tries to help her throughout the story. The Ashmann Inn is a great location. It’s got just enough of the atmosphere to set up a great haunting location. It’s just a shame the Inn is a wasted location for a broken and dull experience. Remothered: Broken Porcelain is a very bad game set in a fascinating world. The various issues I encountered severely outway the positives. Though I enjoyed the story, some may have many problems following it due to its bad pacing and quite simply just how bad it’s actually told. The A.I. is laughable, making the pursuers more irritating than frightening. All in all, Broken Porcelain is just too much of a broken game to get much enjoyment out of it.
