One Piece Odyssey PC Game Free Download Unfitgirl Video games based on Japanese anime tend to be fan service at best and a cash grab at worst. Unless it’s a fighting game or an Omega Force musou game with characters from Dragon Ball, Naruto, Demon Slayer, or other Shonen Jump animes (or if you want to go really back, the Initial D Arcade Stage racing game in arcades), there aren’t many examples of anime games that are critically successful. As a matter of fact, out of the dozens of One Piece video games on console and mobile platforms, not one has averaged higher than an 80 on Metacritic. One Piece Odyssey seeks to change all that, with Bandai Namco opting to have developer ILCA create a full-fledged JRPG out of the long-running franchise. And while it stumbles a bit trying to mimic Square Enix’s Dragon Quest series, One Piece Odyssey comes surprisingly close to the real deal. Unfitgirl.COM SEXY GAMES

I’m not sure what it is about January, but this gateway to a brand new year seems to be the prime place to release highly anticipated video games based on anime. I’ll never forget getting the opportunity to review Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot at the start of my first full year here at GodisaGeek, and now another year is beginning and One Piece Odyssey is here to usher it in. If you’ve always dreamt of an epic (and incredibly long) JRPG featuring all your favourite members of the Straw Hat Pirates, then this just might be the game for you. Luffy and the gang are off on one of their usual adventures at sea, which ends rather abruptly when they get beached on a mysterious island harbouring a dark secret. It doesn’t take long for the crew to realise they aren’t alone on this tropical paradise, and a run in with new characters Adio and Lim ends with them losing all of their powers. The new duo thankfully know how to get them back, but it will be a long and arduous adventure through time and space packed full of anime characters you know and love.

Time for a Straw Hat Pirate party

To get your powers back, Lim explains that the Straw Hat crew will need to dive back into their memories and replay key events in their adventures to absorb some weird cubes. This means you’ll be playing through all your favourite arcs of the anime, but with a twist. You see memory is a fickle thing that can’t be trusted, and because of that the events that take place in somewhere like Alabasta or Marineford might not be entirely the same as you remember from the anime. This means even series veterans will have plenty of new story content to enjoy in One Piece Odyssey, while new fans can experience the gist of the story without watching a billion hours of anime. It’s a really clever way to include both audiences. As a primer for those who don’t know a lot about the series, One Piece started as a manga series in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine all the way back in July 1997. Assassin’s Creed Unity Gold Edition

Written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, the manga was turned into an anime in 1999 that is still running today and currently has over 1,000 episodes. Even today, the series appears in Top 10 lists for the most popular anime of the year. But at this point, I assume many people, anime fans included, take one quick look at that episode count and reasonably conclude that the ship has sailed on getting into the series. Fortunately, Oda understands this, and has tailored a story that new players can follow and that longtime fans will appreciate. Wanting to put things in perspective, One Piece Odyssey becomes an instant triumph . Because we must consider all the times in which the heroes who populate the infinite (twenty-five years between ink, screens and a journey still far from its conclusion) Eiichiro Oda’s saga have tried to venture into the world of video games with not always memorable results , see the relatively recent World Seeker , reviewed by yours truly under the brand of most burning disappointment .

The strong but simpleminded Luffy sometimes leads the group into trouble, so the reindeer medic Chopper helps to patch the team up and the archaeologist Robin keeps them on track as she pieces together the lost history of Waford.

One Piece Odyssey, on the other hand, is a very good game, the JRPG that fans of the series aspired to. It is characterized by a very high production value , one that only a very prestigious brand (at the moment, probably THE most prestigious at home) like One Piece can aspire to. Sixty frames per second , fixed on PlayStation 5 with a perfectly fitting graphic style that manages to splendidly interpret the landscapes and eccentric characters that populate Oda’s stories in a polygonal key, a goal that is not at all obvious . The plot of One Piece Odyssey weaves two ideas into one, combining an original story written by Oda himself with prior arcs of the series. But though the narrative treads through some familiar material, it is told from the more interesting perspective of the crew looking back on its past. The game begins like most One Piece story arcs do: Luffy and his fellow members of the Straw Hat Pirates find a mysterious new island where a dangerous storm begins to swirl around it.

Short review:

    1. By and large, One Piece Odyssey does an admirable job telling a new story while rehashing old material in a new light. Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator
    2. Odyssey offers an intriguing spin as we revisit four of the most popular arcs in the franchise and see the crew try to avoid past mistakes, battle against familiar foes, and change certain outcomes.
    3. There are enough mysteries about Waford and its origins, and enough nostalgia and character struggle in Memoria, to maintain the momentum and tension of the narrative.
    4. While the twist involving the new characters near the end of the game isn’t too surprising since Oda knowingly telegraphs it throughout the game, their transformation is done gradually and steadily.
    5. So while you can see the curveball coming from a mile away, it still resonates.

Despite having Devil Fruit powers that give him extraordinary Gum Gum rubber-man powers, Luffy has a weakness to the ocean (caused by the same Devil Fruit) and can’t swim in it, so the crew moves fast to brace for impact. Still, the sheer strength of the storm knocks their ship straight into the air, and by the time Luffy wakes up on the beach, he discovers that some of his friends have been scattered about the island of Waford. Then within the first few hours of tutorials and opening exploration, the crew members soon discover that they have forgotten their skills. Only after they meet several new characters on the island do they learn about the hostile colossi that protect Waford and how to regain their lost abilities by entering a world called Memoria that is formed by their collective memories. From there, the story alternates between the party spelunking through dungeons on the island and revisiting their past from their current point of view.

the game’s combat system doesn’t follow the classic JRPG trope with heroes battling on one side and enemies on the other. Instead, battlefields are split into multiple sections that group together heroes and enemies in different areas.

Now if you’re clueless when it comes to One Piece, you likely want to know more about the fighting in this hefty JRPG before jumping in. Well I’m pleased to report that the turn-based combat is rather enjoyable. Each battle sees your party of four chosen pirates taking turns to use a variety of special attacks to take out opponents. There are all sorts of healing powers, status effects, and team attacks to master, as well as a rock paper scissors style system of different combat styles. It’s absolutely essential to make sure you use your Power characters against Ranged enemies, and your Technique characters against Power foes, because you’ll barely deal any damage otherwise. The other big twist in combat is that it takes place of multiple areas. Each member of your team starts spread across four of these locations, and can only move to another to help out a buddy once it’s empty of enemies.

Like a classic JRPG, One Piece Odyssey doesn’t have a difficulty setting, so the game is as challenging as you choose it to be.

Some characters have special long-ranged moves that can attack other areas or moves that shove enemies too, which means tougher battles often require you to focus on clearing out certain baddies first so your team can regroup and help each other out. The game struggles to explain the nuances of this battle system, but once you figure out how it all works when coupled with the different character types for yourself, it makes battles really engaging. Outside of scrapping with aggressive squirrels and rival pirates, you’ll be spending a lot of time exploring the environments that your adventure takes you to. There are collectibles, side quests, and treasures hidden in every corner of every area you wander through, and you’ll need to use everyone’s unique talents to find them all. Jumping, climbing, and Luffy’s stretchy grappling hook arms can be used to get up and over all sorts of obstacles, while Chopper fits into small spaces, and Zoro slices through metal doors with ease.

Wide environments, an extended and clear horizon without the shadow of clipping and a majestic sound signed by the veteran Motoi Sakuraba , all in the service of an original story with a couple of brand new supporting characters to meet, namely the daring explorer Adio and the reticent Lim , “guests” of the mysterious Waford island on which the Thousand Sunny was forced to run aground , shot into the clouds by a Knock Up Stream not unlike the one that made good old Merry discover the celestial beaches of Skypiea . Let’s get our hands on it right away: One Piece Odyssey is perhaps the best game dedicated to Oda’s pirates, however it remains a light JRPG , mainly suitable for novice players . It could not be otherwise: setting aside the canonical hit points and technique (the mana of the game, in practice), there are just three characteristics to think about, namely defense , attack and protection from other people’s techniques.
