Gunslugs Switch NSP Free Download Unfitgirl Gunslugs is one of Orange Pixels more senior titles in what is now quite the growing back catalogue of games. I first played it back in 2015 at a PS Vita stand at a gaming convention. It’s a demo that led to an instant purchase when I returned home as well as following the developers’ future projects. Orange Pixel has grown a lot as a developer since this release but let us return to Gunslugs and see if it still holds up five years later. You start the game by choosing a pixelated character before being dropped into a war zone where your mission is to destroy a series of radio towers so that you can be extracted by the chopper. Insert appropriate ‘get to the choppa joke’ here. You do this for a couple of levels before entering into a boss fight after which you travel to a new area and repeat the destructive cycle all over again. This is all presented in simple pixel graphics with retro feeling sounds. Sound effects which are starting to feel a little dated on the Switch. As you progress through the levels you can find hidden characters locked in cages. Unlocking them will not only provide a new character to choose from in the menu but they usually start the game from a later level so you don’t always have to start right back at the beginning for every playthrough. The game plays as a simple run and gun shooter. You start with a basic pistol with limited ammo but you will soon discover new weapons including dual pistols, a flamethrower and a chicken that shoots eggs at the enemy. Yes, Orange Pixel once again brings the memorable humour. Unfitgirl.COM SEXY GAMES

The fun doesn’t stop there though you’ll encounter NPCs who look rather similar to games, films and TV show characters that you probably like. I encountered Not Princess Peach, Not Robocop and even Not Dr Who, to name a few. They may provide you with helpful items or transport you to bonus levels where you can gain more coins which can be used to purchase the odd item from another NPC.. Gunslugs is not afraid to make you chuckle as you make your way through another run. Each run is randomly generated, the level layout, enemies and NPCs you encounter in buildings will never be the same twice. Making it hard not to resist additional playthroughs in single-game sessions. There are no xp systems, when you die that’s it, you just have to learn to get better through playing the game. Be warned, this title is incredibly hard, death will come thick and fast at times. Often it can feel like the action and explosions engulf the screen. Which can make it hard to follow the carnage going on, which at times leads to some cheap deaths. This can be especially frustrating if you’ve had a really successful run. It is a design that I’ve always admired about Orange Pixel but it won’t work for everyone.Gunslugs on Switch feels exactly the same as the Vita version I used to play with one additional bonus, it has co op. Yes, you can throw a joy con at a friend or loved one, prop this game up on a table and prepare for run and gun carnage together.

Explosions, chaos, and screen-shakes?

This feature alone makes it worth the double-dip purchase. The game appears to run flawlessly in handheld and TV mode. The former being my preference for play. Gunslugs feels ideal in handheld mode. Gunslugs is a game that is available on both the 3DS and Nintendo Switch. It is a game that feels very mobile in its roots and is a mindless run-and-gun action experience. Orange Pixel is known for its fun, little indie games, and this is no different. But is Gunslugs worthy of your might dollar, or is this a game more appetizing off the sales rack? Well, let’s jump in and find out! The game does very little to motivate you, as there is no story or character development whatsoever. You are just initially able to choose between Johnny Rumble or Gun Chick, who both control and play exactly the same (As do all the unlockable characters), and then you are tasked to shoot and destroy everything in your path. You are initially taken through a tutorial stage of sorts that is short and painless, but then after that, the real game begins and it basically turns into an endless run-and-gun. It is a bit chaotic, but the sprite graphics and cute aesthetic encourage more play, even if it gets repetitive after a while. Gunslugs also has a lot of picksups throughout the game that provide health, bullets, and even new guns and grenades. The different guns do not change a whole lot of the gameplay, but it is fun to see different bullet sprites fly across the screen as you spray down the enemies. Indecent Desires The Game

One mind-boggingly stupid thing in the game is that when you pause, the B-button takes you back to the main menu, losing any progression you just worked on. So if you were having an awesome run and getting big points but you got a phone call midway through, had to pause, and then came back to accidentally exit the awesome run you were having, you might be pretty pissed off (Did that sound too realistic? Because that’s exactly what happened to me). I cannot believe this was an oversight, since this can genuinely be a run killer. you will be met by the boss of that area, and the boss fights are still chaotic but in a fun way. I personally enjoyed the bosses significantly more than the actual levels, as they felt a bit more choreographed and less insane than the standard areas of dozens and dozens of enemies shooting at you wildly. As you make your way to hell (Yes, the underworld), you will be entering random buildings that offer a lot of things. Most of the time, you are just picking up items, but there are also fun mini-games that you can play and even extra characters to rescue and unlock. It does add to the experience, and I especially liked the mini-games which feel like a lot of the same gameplay but a bit more survival-like. Sidescrolling run-and-gun games are, arguably, a classic that never seem to go out of style.

As you finish areas

Games like Contra and Gunstar Heroes, with their multiple weapon types, hundreds of attacking enemies, and billions of bullets whizzing past your head are a frantic and fun diversion. Naturally if you’re going to make a run-and-gun game, these are the key elements you’ll want to have present. Gunslugs borrows heavily from these tropes, but still manages to come up as a unique and fun shooter with a large emphasis on the silly. The first thing most will notice about the game is the look: a decidedly retro aesthetic is evident with its pixelated graphics, super-deformed characters, and minimalist backgrounds. I must admit the first time I saw this title, I wasn’t impressed with the graphics. It looked like Contra and Metal Slug had an ugly baby. However, the sloppy schlock of it all grew on me, and it’s mostly thanks to the soundtrack and control. Gavin Harrison’s chirpy chiptune soundtrack is a delicious throwback to games gone by, and his pulsing tunes really set the mood for the frenetic shooting. And boy is there a lot of it. Your basic M.O. is to run to the right side of the screen and shoot everything. Enemies, crates, giants walkers, helicopters. As you shoot, enemies and crates drop ammo pick-ups, and different weapons, such as flamethrowers, egg guns (?), and dual-wielding pistols (which have you shooting in front of and behind you. Wow, what a change!). Sadly, once these weapons run out, you switch back to your standard pistol. It would have been nice for the option to switch weapons on the fly, but honestly, it’s a minor quibble at best. All of this would be nothing if the game wasn’t fun and easy to control, and thankfully, the minimalist approach does wonders for the gameplay. Jumps are precise, you need only to hold down the fire button to shoot, and movement is quick and fluid. As soon as you drop into the action — literally, via parachute into every stage — you’re being shot at. As you mow down baddies you must also take down beacons, as they summon more troops. Eliminate all the beacons and get to the end of the stage where a helicopter takes you to the next level. Every three stages ends with a giant boss fight, and then you’re off to a new locale. There’s a surprising amount of variety in Gunslugs, and this is mostly due to the game’s random level generator. The layout of each stage is randomly configured, so If you die in level 2-1, the next time you play it, nothing is where it was before. This may go against the grain of memorizing patterns like in the shooters of yore, but that actually brings a freshness to the genre, as well as allowing for a unique experience each time you play. That said, the randomness to the level design can sometimes be too random,

The train-ride

As boxes and landmines may sometime pop-up in impossible to avoid areas, or power-ups (bought with coins dropped by foes) may not be able to be bought when the item shop generates at the beginning of the stage. There are several optional objectives to clear beyond taking out the beacons and the bosses, offered up three at a time, such as blowing up three enemies at once, playing as a certain unlockable character, or driving a tank (another Metal Slug comparison) over five enemies in a row. These objectives carry over through multiple playthroughs, so if you’ve completed a few and die, you can pick up where you left off, objective-wise. And die you will. While it’s not a one-hit kill situation like Contra, your life bar can get depleted fairly quickly with all the chaos and explosions happening around you. Once it’s gone, you’re dead. One life to live. Continues can be bought but are hard to come by due to the random nature of levels. Ammo too is a precious commodity, and once that bar is empty you’ll have no way to battle — though thankfully ammo drops aren’t as rare as continues. While there is a story, the real draw to the game is getting the high score and unlocking the goofy characters. Even though they don’t really offer anything beyond a cosmetic change, the character names really got a chuckle out of me, with such action-movie cliches as Willis Kiyay and Bad Ass Barracuda rocking the super-deformed look. There’s even a few minigames peppered throughout that pay homage to older titles that aren’t even shooters, such as Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong, used to help refill your health and ammo bars, as well as offering a brief reprieve from all the bullet-hell.Gunslugs is a great tribute to the old school, while still maintaining a fresh outlook on the genre. While its random level generation isn’t perfect, the control and chaos at play here is a fun distraction for an afternoon. You’ll shoot a lot, you’ll die a lot, and you’ll always be moving right, but you’ll always be having fun too. OrangePixel had a dream. They dreamt of a game where you had elements of a certain other famous bullet-intense action game with the word Slug in the title, but also had a more definitive replayability aspect. A game where almost anyone could pick it up and go nuts because the buttons were limited, the objectives were clear and the ability to achieve everything the first time through was impossible. This game could either be purchased outright, or be laden with ads so that, no matter what, OrangePixel got paid. The result was a mobile game that did a decent amount of sales as it crossed to both markets and a Steam release that was almost entirely overlooked. Still, that never stopped a game from coming to the Nintendo Switch before, now has it? The result is the release of Gunslugs, a 2D, pixel art action game with bullets, chickens, explosions and some questionable entertainment.

The premise is simple: the Black Duck Army is a group of baddies that you, dear awesome agent of freedom, need to stop. Choosing from one of two avatars (with more unlockable), you get airdropped into a series of areas where you’re immediately beset on all sides by baddies with bullets and incredibly incendiary surroundings. You can take a few hits, but medkits are your friends. Your bullets might feel infinite, yet picking up ammunition is the key to survival. Take down the targets, blow up the baddies, deal with the big boss and then call it a day. Oh, and then get ready to do it all over again, because you had an objective that was entitled “Play something Mr. DJ” and you don’t know what the hell that means, but you forgot to do it so do it again. Let’s address some things from the start. First, OrangePixel last crossed my path many, MANY moons ago with Meganoid, which I have fond memories of in terms of roguelite exploration and some pretty good generation of worlds and ideas. However, Gunslugs is, strangely, an older game by a large margin and not a very well known one at that. There have been three Gunslugs games to date, with the most recent being just about a year old and, which technically a different gameplay approach (stealth tactics vs. shooty action), is still the best-looking entry.
