Floppy Knights Switch NSP Free Download Unfitgirl I had the good fortune to become an early adopter of Rose City Games. They’re a relatively small Portland-based indie team that always seems to have a hand in creative, unique, and challenging games, from Cat Lady to Garden Story. And I suspected early on that Floppy Knights was something special, even for them. It’s a tactical tale of a young inventor named Phoebe. Though she lives in a magical world of goblins and spellcasting, she’s a bit rebellious. She uses magic for a different sort of purpose – scientific discovery! This leads to her robotic arm/ally Carlton, and her titular Floppy Knights, which are hard light holograms created from floppy disks. The game follows her misadventures through this world, full of whimsy, humor, and wonder. Keep reading this Floppy Knights review to discover why this is one of the best tactical adventures I’ve played in some time. From my past experience with the game, I thought the plot would primarily focus on Phoebe’s dream of winning the Science Fair. She still lives with her parents, and is looking for that big cash reward to move out. Her parents just want her to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a successful blacksmith. But Phoebe wants to live her own life. Which sets her on a series of goofy quests to earn some quick cash, and then she finds herself pitted against some stiff competition in the form of rivals Alex and Snarlton. To my surprise, that storyline peters out pretty quickly, and then Phoebe finds herself on a new quest against a mysterious robotic adversary. While the narrative is hardly the most vital aspect of the game, it is charming and features some really endearing side characters. First and foremost is a big, bulky goofball named Bernard that’s anxious and terrified of everything.Unfitgirl.COM SEXY GAMES

He repeatedly finds himself in the middle of bad situations, leaving Phoebe and Carlton to get him to safety. You’ll also interact with many minor characters, like plant-thieving goblins and perplexed rock folk. But honestly, the majority of the dialogue is between Phoebe and Carlton, and it’s sure to put smiles on the faces of even the most jaded gamers out there. That’s all good and well, but the most important aspect of any tactical game is the actual gameplay. I’m happy to report that Floppy Knights has really fantastic gameplay that’s easy to learn, yet hard to master. You’ll place a Commander card from your deck at the start of every battle. Every turn, your Commander generates a card unique to them and adds it to your hand. You have a set amount of energy to play cards every turn, though there are ways to create more energy with specific cards. You have to play cards to move your units, but they can each declare one attack for free every turn. If you want to attack more than once, you’ll need a card that allows additional attacks, of which there are many. Keep in mind that if your Commander bites the dust, you lose the mission. So while they are powerful and useful units, you also have to be very careful to protect them from getting surrounded and defeated. There are three types of decks in the game. You start with Plants, but eventually also unlock Monsters and Hooligans. Each deck has a unique gimmick, though there’s definitely crossover between themes. Plants can evolve cards into more potent forms and are also adept at healing damage. Monsters are brutes that pay health to draw additional cards and move farther, and some get stronger when they’re at really low health. Hooligans are the trickiest, and I admit I’m still mastering how to use them.

Floppy Knights Turn-based tactics meet card-game strategy.

They have huge risk vs. reward playstyles, and they’re the only deck that I drew more than the maximum number of cards in a turn, which turns out to be 15. The great thing is you can mix and match cards from each deck theme in the other decks, except for the Commanders. Each theme has a couple of different Commanders you can unlock, and they all provide very distinct ways to play the game. Plants start with Captain Thistle, who is strong and always on the attack. But Plant decks can also use Vera, who heals all your units every turn and generates cards that move and heal units every turn. I personally enjoyed using healing Plant cards in Monster decks to get around the steep costs of some Monster cards, and using Monster cards in Hooligan decks to give me more chances to attack. There’s a lot of complexity, and I only scratched the surface in my time with the game On the topic of complexity, here’s some more. Whenever you summon a monster card to the field of battle, they’ll, in turn, generate their own cards. These aren’t unlike the ones generated by your Commander. The key difference is many of these cards remain in your deck even if the monster that created them is destroyed. When that happens, a Waste card will be added to your deck, along with a copy of the destroyed monster. Waste cards do nothing but take up space and require a little energy to remove from your deck. There are also some cool cards that flip over when you play them and transform into a different card, like Reap turning into Sow. It’s best to pay close attention to card descriptions before you play them, though you’ll learn a lot of the nuance just by playing different cards. And if you want more control over the cards in your decks, you can create your own cards with cash or find some in missions as rewards.MADiSON

There are several areas in the game, and each is comprised of 4 levels each. While you’re totally fine just beating a level and moving onto the next, the developers smartly included optional objectives in each one. Some aren’t that hard, such as reaching an item before a foe steals it. But others will make your life hell, such as beating some levels without losing any units, or taking and holding a position for a specific amount of turns. Generally, the last level of any area is the hardest, but not always. Even better, the game constantly adds new features to keep things fresh, such as boss battles and even fog of war. What brings the entire experience together in one cohesive package is the artwork and music. If you’ve played Dicey Dungeons before, you’ll probably recognize the stellar artwork of Marlowe Dobbe. It’s bright, colorful, and full of spunk. It makes it a joy to not only play the game, but even just read the dialogue. There are a ton of great Floppy Knights, but my favorite is probably Teen Spirit, a skateboarding ghost. But not to be outdone is the music by Grahm Nesbitt of Garden Story fame. Every musical track is full of joyous energy, and it makes it so you’ll never get bored by what you’re hearing. Combined, the art and music make Floppy Knights even better. Floppy Knights is an interesting blend of grid-based tactics and deck building, focusing on quick missions that put your skills to the test. It’s all linked by an absurdly charming art style and a story that never gets too complex but manages to be equally charming. In Floppy Knights you play as Phoebe, a brilliant 16-year-old inventor who wants to save up enough money to move out of her parent’s house. To that end, she invents the Floppy Knights system, which lets her create plant soldiers so she can complete tasks around town, and win the prize for the science fair. Phoebe is accompanied by her sentient computer arm Carlton, and the dynamic between the two makes up most of the comedic relief of Floppy Knights.

Find your Floppy fighting style!

Dialogue is quick and snappy with a tongue-in-cheek slant, which reinforces the core philosophy of the game, to do something specific and do it well. As you travel around a world map, the game is made up of 27 different story missions and 24 challenge missions. Don’t go in expecting the lengthy dozens of hours that many tactical RPGs are known for, however, as Floppy Knights like to keep things light. Each level essentially feels like a puzzle, where you need to piece together the right cards in order to complete the objective. On each turn, you have a pool of five energy, and each card has an energy cost to use. The main focus of your deck is the commander card, which you have to place on the field at the beginning. Each commander has their own special perks and a special card that they can use each turn, but if the commander falls it’s game over. There’s a core set of rules that apply across the board, like each unit having one attack per turn but needing to use an attack card to do another. Past that, however, the variety of cards can greatly influence how you approach battles. You have unit cards that you can summon, healing cards, special attack cards, and more. There’s a massive variety of cards that you’ll earn along the way, all of which can contribute to specialized decks. At the same time, you’ll unlock two other decks later on that represent other factions, and you can even mix and match cards as you see fit. There’s a staggering amount of choice in Floppy Knights, and that’s great, but in a way, it feels like you simply don’t have enough time to explore all the options. It’s not necessarily the length of the missions themselves, but how many there are.Neo Cab

It just feels like the combat system doesn’t get enough room to breathe and expand naturally. The card variety is great, but more missions or options would have allowed the entire thing to breathe more. In the end, though, it’s a small quibble against a strong core gameplay system. The game also does a good job of ramping up the difficulty and only has a couple of examples of notable difficulty spikes. What helps Floppy Knights excel even more is its unique sense of style. The cartoony hand-drawn art style is done by the same art director as Dicey Dungeons, Marlowe Dobbe, and it absolutely works wonders here. The plant soldiers feel vaguely reminiscent of Plants vs. Zombies, but there’s a sort of low-budget Saturday morning cartoon feel. The retro-inspired soundtrack also helps contribute to that feeling, written by Garden Story composer Grahm Nesbitt. Floppy Knights is a charming experience that brings something unique to the table, even though it doesn’t reinvent the wheel for either of its genres. I do wish there was a little more meat to the experience, and despite the charming writing the story simply lacks a strong core. Despite that, however, it’s a journey that’s well worth taking, especially if you’re a fan of tactical games or deck builders. Floppy Knights is mostly focused on cards. Once a level’s core and bonus goals have been revealed, players will get a hand each turn, alongside a number of action points. A hero unit is played first. Cards can bring in new units or activate special abilities, but they are also required to move and attack (each unit has one free strike per turn). Units have associated cards, but the player can use them with others. It’s entirely possible to end up with a hand with no movement cards, making it very hard to push towards an objective.

Plan the perfect draw.

Players can craft new cards and build their best deck when outside a level. Once a movement card is chosen it can be applied to one creature. The same for an attack or a special card. The idea is to use the player’s hero and an assortment of allies to take down the enemy, seize checkpoints and reach the objective. It’s important to look at enemies to have a clear idea of how they can move and attack before committing to any plan. Make sure to note any environmental hazards that can add chaos. A carefully put together deck is important for success but isn’t a guarantee for it. I tended to quickly fail my first attempt at beating a level to see how the world reacts to my moves. It is then time to make a plan, try to implement it, and then see what tweaks are needed to achieve the objective. There’s a tension between Floppy Knights’ universe and its mechanics. The banter between characters is fun and breezy but one bad move during the turn-based combat leads to a push of the Retry button. It will certainly appeal to veterans of this genre, who want to carefully consider plans and refine them based on circumstances. It will not be a good introduction to card-focused action for someone who looks at the art style and just wants to experience this cool universe and see what the robot arm can do. Floppy Knights chooses a visual identity that suits the universe and the mechanics. Phoebe and the rest of the characters have charm, and the combat arenas and cards manage to be informative without sacrificing style. Make sure to always click on enemies to get information about their potential moves and attacks. The game offers all the info required to make solid plans, although it takes a little time to become accustomed to the cards. The soundtrack is very fun, with enough variety and some pretty catchy themes. Hello there, humans.

It is me, Carlton! Phoebe’s most trusted friend and super cool robot arm. I am here to tell you just a little bit more about Phoebe and her latest invention: Floppy Knights! Who is Phoebe, you ask? She is a talented inventor with a mission: save up enough cash to finally move out of her parents’ place. There are plenty of odd jobs all over town but only one Phoebe – and that is where the Floppy Knights come in! There are a bunch of Floppy Knights you can pick from to determine your own style. It will be up to you to mix and match snazzy card combos to make a winning strategy. A fresh take on two familiar genres! Lead your Knights to victory across the battlefield using decks you have crafted with care. Jump into a fantastical land with hand-drawn visuals by Marlowe Dobbe (Dicey Dungeons), featuring lush vegetation, treacherous volcanoes, icy caves, and foggy forests. Every unit has a unique playstyle and ability to generate special cards during battle, creating endless possibilities. Whether you’re a tactics veteran or playing for the first time – snappy battles and numerous card combinations will keep you on your toes to find the perfect strategy. Take advantage of cards that add and flip complementary cards so you can execute seamless combos. Listen to the energetic and refreshingly retro soundtrack by Grahm Nesbitt (Garden Story) that will have you dancing across the battlefield! You know how sometimes in card games, you get That One Turn, where the stars align and you pull off an amazing combo? Where it seems like you’re drawing half your deck, gaining a million mana/energy/resources and destroying everything in your path? Well, every single turn seems like that in Floppy Knights.

And they don’t even feel stale, or like you’re going through the motions, or that you’re just winning because you picked an OP card. It takes a bunch of forethought and skill to plan out your god turns. It’s easy to mess up because an enemy ended up closer than you thought, or because you misjudged how much damage you’d take, and that’s fine. Deaths never feel or down to RNG, because in the end, it’s always been my fault for not checking enemies or misjudging how far they can run. The setup is par for the course if you’ve played Dream Quest/Slay the Spire or any deckbuilder. Each turn you draw a hand of 5 cards, each costing some Energy. You start each turn with 5 energy. You move units around in a square-based grid, and have to protect your Commander – a powerful unit that gives you a card each turn. My favourite is Vera, who heals all other units for 1 health each turn, and adds a movement card that also heals units, letting you get a bit more aggressive. The game is split into different locations, each with 4 levels. The first world is your standard tutorial zone, which lays down the basics. The second introduces harder enemies and some more zone-specific hazards; the third is a big contest with a really intriguing set of levels, and so on. The visual design of each stage is absolutely stunning, and the music is a bop as well. There’s also a ton of challenge levels – another 4 for each world – which were pre-designed to offer a challenge that really makes you think outside the box. If you end up falling into a rut and only using a specific deck for a bunch of levels (which I ended up doing…), then the challenges really add a breath of fresh air, as well as giving you some perspective of potential combos you can pull off. It’s a lovely diversion and offers some nice food for thought.Gravel
