Evil West Free Download Unfitgirl When I think about what the real world would be like if it were overrun by vampires, werewolves, and zombie-like shambling corpses, that imaginary apocalypse doesn’t evoke nearly as much maniacal cackling from me as the one in Evil West. From the Tesla-inspired electricity weapons to the gratuitous gore and bloodshed, this old-school action game was some of the most fun monster murdering I’ve done in a while – unfortunately, its formulaic structure also make it some of the most repetitive. Evil West’s roughly 12-hour linear campaign is spread across 16 different missions that all follow the same format. Each level has a clear start and end point with collectibles sprinkled along the way, broken up by throngs of enemies that assail you until you get a dialogue break during the next cutscene. While you’re technically free to explore levels a bit to find lore items or gold pouches, aka “bucks” for purchasing upgrades, the crux of your adventure is walking from one fight to the next and eventually capping missions off with a boss battle. Fortunately, the environments between each combat encounter are truly sights to behold with enough picturesque backdrops that range from the outlandish to the beautiful to make even the grumpiest cowboy shed a tear. The formula of Evil West’s levels is rarely mixed up save for a few unique situations, such as a wacky mine cart segment or the handful of times you walk around the base camp while being spoon fed exposition. Its story puts you in control of Jesse Rentier from The Rentier Institute, an organization founded by Jesse’s father to hunt down and eradicate all manner of vampires and other foul beasts. Developer Flying Wild Hogs really latched onto the whole “Wild West, but Weird” idea and ran away with it screaming. You’ve got Illuminati-esque floating pyramids, portals to hell, and demonic little girls with skin-crawling voices. It’s a tale riddled with entertaining expletives and truly distinct characters, such as the fiercely opinionated doctor, Emilia Blackwell, so there’s never a dull moment – I just wish the story as a whole was more sophisticated than Jesse simply chasing down some bad people for revenge. Over the course of Evil West you’ll gradually unlock new weapons, powers, and upgrades that alter Jesse’s abilities in fun new ways. For example, you can increase the number of shots your pistol gets off in a single magazine, augment your rifle with electrical damage, and even incorporate new abilities like ground pounds and aerial combos to continue evolving your arsenal. The way combat is always expanding helps break up the otherwise monotonous layouts of Evil West’s levels. There is rarely a stretch of time longer than 20 minutes in which you won’t either unlock a new ability, augment an existing weapon with a fresh effect, or find an entirely new gadget for dismembering enemies in glorious ways.  God I love a good werewolf. Werewolves, I propose, are a chance for game designers to be unreasonable. Werewolves do not wait politely to attack.

Evil West Battle alone or with a friend in stylish, gory action combat.

They do not shamble and bunch together like zombies, taking blind swipes at you with the wrist rather than the hand. They do not have rail guns that need powering up. Instead, werewolves come out of nowhere and they’re suddenly right up close. They do not acknowledge your personal space. Werewolves are a flurry of terrifying slashes of the claws, they are berzerk energy and long health bars. Werewolves are jerks and we love them for it. There is a werewolf equivalent in Evil West, and I reckon they get to the heart of what’s great about this euphoric, silly, straight-ahead chugging blast of a video game. Simple really. When you first meet werewolves they’re absolutely terrifying. They’re overwhelming. Each one is a boss fight in itself. Wow! What was that? Hope I don’t see any more of them, pardner! But you do, you do see more of them, pardner. They come in packs. They come alongside other enemies. They come alongside bosses. And yet, by the end of the game you’re knocking them aside. Batting them away. Popping their heads off and splattering their bodies. This is Evil West: it’s got that great Double-A treat, the ludicrous power curve. By the end of the game you’re pretty much a god. And gods really give game designers a chance to be unreasonable. Let’s get the plot out of the way. Evil West. That’s the plot. It’s the old west, but there are monsters and shambling horrors and vampires and all that jazz out there in the wilds. Megabyte Punch Switch NSP

You play part of a team who takes these beasts and shows them who’s who. It gets a bit more complicated, but not too complicated. This is a game where a zeppelin loaded with hideous slobbering nightmares crash lands in the narrative’s equivalent of the White House. Plot is fuel here, propulsion that drives you to greater slaughter. It’s a third-person brawler, inspired by the recent God of War, but really coming to you direct from somewhere around 2011. You’re huge on the screen and you punch monsters in combos, and you can kick them to give you a bit of space. And then you can punch them electrically, pull them towards you or you towards them with an electrical gizmo that allows you to lay on that delirious staggered beat-down from the Arkham games, their skeletons buzzing away inside them as you work because of all the volts. You can launch them into the air and cannonball them into spikes, into each other. You can pound the ground and pretty much evaporate them on the spot – all of this once you’re deep in the campaign of course, and pleasantly powered up. Enemies repeat readily but that doesn’t matter because they’re mostly glorious. Every type of enemy from 2011 is here and waiting to embrace you. The guys that run at you and explode. The guys that burrow and erupt from the ground. The shield guys you have to flank. The guys that hover in the sky and then crash to earth now and then. All of these take a pummeling, or a blasting, and all of them have moments of weakness where the glowing spots let out an arc of light and a chime, encouraging you to rifle them for massive damage or a health drop. Simple, predictable enemies, gradually added to throughout the campaign – this is one of those games where mini-bosses quickly become folded into the general enemy camp – and coming at you in new combinations.

Myths and legends retold within a stylised, weird wild west universe.

In new arenas, perfect for letting you try out your latest gadget. At times, it’s almost Robotron.Evil West is the latest title from Polish developer Flying Wild Hog. You are Jesse (the best name) Rentier, son of William. Through the Rentier (ren-tee-ay) Institute the US Government has been waging a never-ending war against Vampires and Werewolves across the entirety of the United States. It’s a weird, macho, steampunk, and Tesla-inspired alt-history setting that works due to an unwavering commitment to going over the top. You will punch, shoot, rip, tear, and explode apart thousands of creatures of the night for ten to fifteen extremely fun hours. While the gameplay is fantastic the writing and voice acting rarely are, so let’s dig into it all and find out if this one is worth a purchase.  The story of Evil West is at all turns predictable. For some, this may be good, and for others like myself, it may detract from things greatly. Unlike my colleague Nick I rarely ever want to skip an in-game cutscene. That changed for Evil West, I watched them all for this review but in my new game+ run I skipped everything, immediately. It’s not objectively bad, but it is repetitive, frustrating, and boring due to over-the-top writing and incredibly obvious plot beats. You play as Jesse Rentier, son of William as stated before. In this crazy version of our past technology has advanced far beyond what we have today in a few ways. The biggest one is the Rentier gauntlet, which despite just being a giant glove can turn Jesse into a superhero.Element 174 Uncensored

From teleporting to enemies or yanking them to you through the power of lightning or tearing 10-foot-tall beasts in half Jesse is a maniacal killing machine. Slowly, a bit too, you’ll unlock various abilities and weaponry. The early portions of the game focus on melee, and you’ll be pressing the right bumper button a lot so Elite controller owners beware. After a few levels, you’ll have upped your weapon and ability arsenal to the point where things start feeling great gameplay-wise. Right trigger is your default shooting ability and will automatically attack with your revolver. Once you unlock your rifle the left trigger aims and is generous with its auto-targeting of enemies or environmental hazards you can explode. Left bumper is for your defensive maneuvers. Holding up while using it will teleport you to an enemy while holding down will yank those susceptible towards you. Both moves can stun enemies which opens them up for a series of punches that land big damage numbers. A is for dodging or rolling, and X is your double-barrel shotgun. It auto-targets in front of you in the same way revolvers do. B is your heal which operates on a cooldown timer. Eventually, you will unlock four more abilities that get mapped to the d-pad and it all feels fantastic in practice. The game took me eleven hours to beat the first time which felt like just enough before things became repetitive. The game does a great job with its leveling mechanics of keeping the combat feeling fresh because outside of a few incredibly simplistic puzzles the combat is all there is. There are two upgrade systems with their currencies. First are your equipment upgrades which are tied to cash that you’ll either earn by leveling or find in the environment.

Evolve with perks, upgradable weapons, and tools.

Certain upgrades are hidden in crates throughout levels, which you can easily replay at any time. Most of them come down to “I can go left or right, one of these gets me a crate and the other is to finish the level” types of exploration. The second leveling system is an experience-based one. Slowly as you play you will level your character, which gives you a perk point. These points either supercharge your main moves or let you custom-tailor how they work. The game allows you to constantly reset your perk points to encourage experimentation; overall, it’s a great system. The main thing to convey about this game is it’s big, dumb, and incredibly fun to play. The action is tense, well-balanced, and constantly over-the-top in a way that works far better than the story does. You can play the entire game in co-op as well though only the host gains progress in their story, unfortunately. A dark menace consumes the American frontier. As one of the last agents in a top-secret vampire-hunting institute, you are the final line between humanity and a deep-rooted terror that now emerges from the shadows. Rise up to become a Wild West Superhero, eradicate the vampire threat and save the United States! In visceral, explosive combat, unleash hell with your firearms, lightning-fueled gauntlet and gadgets. Kill bloodthirsty monstrosities in style as a lone hunter or in co-op with a friend. Explore and fight in a narrative-driven campaign while upgrading your weapons and hunting tools.

Unlock new perks to evolve your monster-slaying mastery, crafting your own playstyle to defeat the supernatural hordes. Evil West is a beautiful game, most of the time. Releasing on every system it is a cross-gen title, but the art direction is routinely fantastic. Most enemy character models look high quality and are a mix of grotesque and deformed body horror elements. Some of the main enemies, I’m looking at you creepy vampire girl, look goofy as hell but the quality of the models is undeniable. The environments are varied and gorgeous every time. It is a deeply saturated and colorful title. You can see the budget at times but running on both my home PC and a Lenovo laptop I’m reviewing it ran well over 100 fps at max settings and 1440p resolution. It was shocking to see the Xbox Series versions stuck at low resolution to reach 60 fps after how well everything ran for me on PC. I’m worried that the console versions are coming in real hot because I still have not received an Xbox code yet from publisher Focus Entertainment. Audio wise the game’s soundtrack is ok but not memorable. The voice acting is well done but cannot carry the subpar writing. The only major bugs I had in the game were audio as well with a particular lightning sound effect would get stuck and continuously play until either a level ended, or I chose to restart from the last checkpoint. Outside of that, I had a few issues with crashing on one particular boss that I was able to solve by lowering the graphic settings to low, killing him, then putting them back up to Epic.

In addition to that constant evolution, combat has a frantic flow that feels great in motion. You can zoom across the map and stun enemies then rack up a melee combo, uppercut them into the air, and jump up to smash them back down into a pool of blood and guts. Or you can charge up your rifle with a high-powered beam of electricity that ricochets between enemies before unleashing your flamethrower to finish them off. It’s a ludicrous selection of weaponry that’s easy to switch between on the fly since nearly every piece of gear has its own dedicated button and cooldown timer – no ammo or bullets to keep track of. You can just wait for stuff to recharge while using something else. The one part of the combat that did grow a bit dull by the end of Evil West was the lack of enemy variety. Slow-moving zombies with heavy wind up swings never pose a challenge and even the most aggressive hulking monstrosities wielding shields lack oomph after the first few fights. It can even be difficult to tell what’s going on during the most chaotic battles because every enemy bleeds together (pun intended) and they all end up looking like the same tones of blood and mud. (It doesn’t help that the notification arrow to let you know someone is attacking is relatively subtle and easy to miss in the thick of things.) Enemy reuse is particularly noticeable when it comes to larger health sponge enemies too, as Evil West likes to copy-paste baddies that were once bosses into later levels as mini bosses. Sometimes these enemies even attack in packs on subsequent meetings, which is pure chaos and, admittedly, a true symphony of violence. ACE COMBAT 7 SKIES UNKNOWN
