Dreamscaper Free Download Unfitgirl Sometimes you can just tell how much effort and care went into making a game, and a good example of this can be seen in Dreamscaper. Developed by a tiny three-person development team, it’s impressive how much has been crammed into this little roguelite from both a story and gameplay perspective. At its core Dreamscaper is a story about the importance of mental wellness and forming meaningful relationships. You play as a faceless woman named Cassidy, who has recently moved from her hometown of Backhill to a new city called Redhaven. Cassidy is quite lonely however, and she’s clearly dealing with some unaddressed trauma from her past that’s still haunting her daily life. To sort out her issues, Cassidy thus relives her past and faces her inner struggles head on in her dreams every night, which take the shape of randomly generated dungeons fashioned after important places from her history. Combat is simple but strategic, as most rooms task you with cutting through a few enemies with a combination of basic attacks, special moves, blocks, and dodges. It’s nothing you haven’t seen before—we were especially reminded of Hades many times—but there’s a nice rhythm to combat and the skill ceiling feels rather high. Things like pulling off a perfectly timed dodge or spacing out your attacks just enough to maximize damage feel consistently rewarding, and there’s quite a bit of weapon diversity to keep runs feeling fresh and interesting. We were especially thrilled by the ongoing sense of forward progression.Unfitgirl.COM SEXY GAMES

Every room clear will reward you with something useful, whether that’s another health drop or an extra key or a new special attack or weapon to fool around with. New equipment drops are almost always an upgrade over your old kit and the random nature of how they spawn means that you’re always incentivized to branch out and try new playstyles. This forward progression isn’t merely limited to your dungeon runs, either. When you inevitably bite the dust and wake up the next morning, there are a variety of currencies you’ve accrued from your run that can then be ‘spent’ in your waking life to improve your odds of overcoming the dream world. Things like meditating and sketching new drawings in Cassidy’s sketchbook will grant you welcome stat bumps and new items for the equipment pools, while also having nice narrative ties to how the power of self-love can improve one’s mental fortitude. There’s also an element of relationship building to these waking portions of the game, and these can further help your chances in the dungeons. Cassidy can travel between various locales in Redhaven (like a park or a bar) and meet with a diverse cast of locals who help to make the town feel a little less intimidating. Giving gifts that match their interests will boost a confidant’s relationship level, and this then takes on a gameplay form in a passive buff that you can equip before entering a dungeon. Not only do these equipable buffs make a meaningful difference to your strategies, but the cutscenes that play out between Cassidy and her friends often fill in more gaps on her mysterious past while offering up some heartwarming and entertaining views into each person’s personality.

Dreamscaper Battle bosses that embody Isolation, Fear, Negativity, Loss and more.

Dreamscaper is an action roguelite from three-person developer Afterburner Studios. Diverging from many other titles in the subgenre, Dreamscaper manages to turn the formula into a surprisingly emotional experience as players fight against a woman’s trauma in her dreams while her growing relationships in the real world give her the needed strength to overcome it. Though there is one particular stumbling block the overall experience otherwise skews highly positively, making the game on that is well worth checking out. Dreamscaper tells the story of Cassidy, a woman who has moved from her tiny hometown of Backhill to the larger town of Redhaven. Prior to the time of the game, Cassidy suffered severe trauma that still haunts her dreams. In these dreams, Cassidy fights through dungeons based on locations she knows, where she needs to overcome bosses who represent specific parts of that trauma. Each time she is defeated, she wakes up and the dream starts again from the beginning. There are six dungeons and bosses to defeat for a completed run, but even a successful run is far from the proper end of the game. Between dreams, Cassidy can visit various locations in Redhaven, where she can do things that may assist her in upcoming runs, such as sketching ideas or meditating. She can also craft gifts for her acquaintances, unlocking new event scenes that expand on the characters and their own personal stories, as well as Cassidy’s relationships with them. The game’s storytelling is very much based on emotions rather than an ongoing plot; the past events that led to Cassidy’s trauma are slowly hinted at, while current events in her life are simply talked about after the fact. It’s an interesting idea, and while there aren’t many story threads to follow.Tales Of Berseria

Dreamscaper is great at conveying the emotions of its characters. The narrative touches upon many understandable issues and concerns, and it’s pleasing to see them addressed in a thoughtful manner. Adding to the emotional approach is Dale North’s stellar and hauntingly beautiful soundtrack. It very much builds upon the premise of Cassidy’s intimate and often lonely fight against her own struggles, both in the quieter tracks that play throughout town and in its more exciting combat themes. The game doesn’t include voice acting but ultimately that doesn’t feel like a bad thing, and the same goes for its graphical direction that elects not to give the characters any facial features. The designs of the cast and the environments are still abundant with character, aid the music and writing in creating what is often a melancholic, but immersive, experience. Going into runs, which begin whenever Cassidy goes to sleep, players can choose their starting loadout or elect to keep these random. Trying to focus on single weapons is ill-advised as players will want to swap out to the far more powerful weapons that they pick up during each run. However, focusing lets players more quickly attain mastery of that equipment, which grants an extra modifier on top of it. Players can also select a passive bonus granted by one of her acquaintances that increases in power as their relationship improves. As Cassidy, your goal is to conquer the nightmares that plague your dreams. To this end, you employ everything from pool cues, yo-yos, finger guns, and magic bows to complete your adventure against strange nightmares and ghoulish bosses. An excellent combat system creates a flow that has you zipping from monster to monster.

Live Cassidy’s waking life and uncover the mystery of her story.

Secrets and unlocks await around every corner. Some smart choices – like letting players teleport to rooms they have already discovered instead of walking – add some welcome convenience to the roguelike dungeon crawl. Combat is crisp, responsive, and the highlight of Dreamscaper. While I found it possible to get through a run with some incredible gear and big buffs without engaging with the battle mechanics, it is incredibly satisfying to learn how to perfect dodge, block, parry, and time your attacks. You can even deflect projectiles back at foes as you master the timing. Boss fights are skill-oriented, and you must learn each of their abilities and how to counter them. My first battle with each boss was intimidating, and I often failed early attempts. Later, I was running circles around these monsters and finishing them off without getting touched. Mastering and engaging the mechanics is a true joy, and the combat kept me coming back even after I’d completed an entire run of the dreamscape. Each dungeon runs yields various resources that you can spend in the waking world between runs. Eventually, you unlock new items to find during runs and permanent power boosts, including health, potent companions, and more. In addition, you can spend resources to alter the room configurations and logic. Spending resources allows you to add rooms, change how rooms work, and add considerable options to each run, and this adds another valuable foible to play with as you work on other stats and skills. Being able to add challenge rooms for more items, health fountains, and item enhancing blacksmiths makes a huge difference and is a cool roguelike feature on top of the other progression methods. As your relationships with the various residents of the town grow, you gain influences you can bring into the dungeon, which can make you an offensive or defensive powerhouse.Ebola 2

While the game attempts to turn these relationship-building encounters into a narrative, these efforts fall flat compared to the rest of the game, and I found myself skipping the little vignettes to get back to the action. While the small-town chat and look into lives might be suited for a more laid-back game, I had little interest in the rather uninspiring stories of the townspeople who attempted to regale me about their lives at the record store or journey as historians. The soundtrack is on point – soothing and calming as you walk the cozy land of the living but appropriately tuned up and raucous within the nightmare. A notable lack of enemy variety is apparent as you dig deeper into the dreams, but this didn’t diminish my experience. Even though the game involves repeatedly plowing through many of the same creatures, the variety of tools on hand to do so keeps things fresh until the very end. The continual drip-feed of upgrades makes every run a joy, even if you meet an untimely end. A lucid dreaming option is great for players who want to make significant progress every run regardless of other factors. Lucid dreaming gives players additional defense with every run, making success a sure thing in the long term. This option is essentially a way to add a difficulty slider to the core roguelike formula and is an excellent choice for those looking for a far more forgiving entry point. Dreamscaper is an endlessly replayable Action Roguelike with a waking/dreaming gameplay cycle. By night, delve deep into your subconscious, facing nightmares in an ever-changing world filled with unique items, abilities, and challenges. By day, explore the city of Redhaven, build relationships and unlock permanent upgrades in order to take on the next dream stronger than ever.

Master Deep Combat System.

Each run sees Cassidy venturing from room to room, searching for the boss that upon defeat will let her progress to the next area. The vast majority of the rooms include a set of enemies to vanquish as well as some environmental hazards to avoid, with others providing opportunities for new equipment — either freely granted or awarded to players for completing puzzles of challenges. Combat is easy to get the hang of, with players having access to melee, ranged, and special attacks. Timing is the biggest part of mastering the combat, and needed for successfully linking combos for more powerful attacks, striking bosses during openings, or dodging and parrying enemy attacks. Players will benefit from smart use of the Lucid meter below the health bar, which is used for ranged attacks as well as to potentially slow down time for a brief period. Dreamscaper gives players a robust selection of weapons and abilities that helps keep the combat fresh despite a limited lineup of enemies, although the game is built so players should be able to adapt to the various options on the table. There’s a great responsiveness to the controls and it’s very pleasing when a run comes together and players manage to get a set that synergises with their keepsakes — other items picked up during runs that provide additional passive bonuses to those found on weapons, such as floating companions, elemental attack attributes, and more. Combat and exploration of the dream world remain strong and satisfying throughout, while the bosses make for strong and noteworthy encounters as well, and remain so despite the large number of times they are faced.

During runs, players will pick up different resources. Bombs, Keys, and Sand are used within the run — Bombs and Keys to unlock doors and paths, while Sand is used to purchase items and upgrades — and lost after it’s over. Meanwhile, Inspiration, Resolve, Glass, and Sparks are used in the real world to craft gifts and unlock a multitude of elements or bonuses for the dream world. It’s these that largely drive the permanent progression of Dreamscaper, and provided players don’t screw up early on, they’ll always have something to show from each run. The game’s biggest stumbling block strangely comes when players manage a successful run. Far from providing players with anything that could be considered an ending, the game simply tells players that they are not done yet and gives a hint at what needs to be done next. However, this particular task feels slower than it needs to be, requiring that players likely have to spend more time than they’d desire and likely turning some off, especially if a successful run comes fairly early in the process of meeting it. A to do list helps players keep track of long-term goals and achievements, providing some extra resources as a bonus, but at a certain point it starts to become busy work.  The game’s settings include an optional Lucid Mode toggle, which gives Cassidy a small boost every time she is defeated in the dream world. The boost is generally small, starting at 20% but only going up 1 or 2% with every defeat, which ensures that the game stays challenging but giving enough of a sense of Cassidy getting stronger.

On the other end of things, players quickly unlock options to increase the difficulty of runs in four different ways and thus gain boosted rewards. As with all roguelite titles, there’s always a sense of luck to proceedings, and some items are considerably more powerful that others, but the sense of progression is very much present through the unlockables and as players get more familiar with the enemies, weapons, and unlockables. While the gameplay provides a strong loop that makes it easy to jump in, it’s the immersive atmosphere that grabs hold and keeps players engaged for multiple runs. The emotional struggles of the characters resonate, and there are important messages about how helpful the support of others can be. Reaching its proper conclusion may require more work than is warranted, but the overall experience of Dreamscaper is such that it remains a strong recommendation for those looking for an atmospheric hack-and-slash title. A rich, expansive combat system that rewards skilled play. Use careful positioning, exact timing and quick reflexes to defeat foes with an abundance of combat options. Each weapon class in Dreamscaper is unique, from rending the earth below your nightmares to whipping a yo-yo into their faces. You’ll have a myriad of ways to approach combat. Enemies and bosses in Dreamscaper are representations of Cassidy’s most negative emotions. Vanquish those deadly foes to clear the dark miasma surrounding her. Adventure through beautiful, haunting dreams to discover untold secrets, vanquish nightmares, and upgrade your gear all while uncovering Cassidy’s story as you plunge through her subconscious. Each dream is another peek into Cassidy’s memories and experiences. Live Cassidy’s waking life and forge friendships with the people around her.
