We can automatically send newly excavated units to a target position – this also works at the “workplace” for our laborers, such as a stone or gold deposit. Something else stands out: Age of Empires 2 doesn’t play as jittery and hectic as StarCraft or the last C&C parts. A mission there is already won after a quarter of an hour – in Age of Empires 2 we have just brought the supply of raw materials into shape and carefully explored the map. And: Here we don’t all get flashing hints, thick directional arrows or waving fence posts about what to do next. No, we really have to work for victory alone.
